According to Evgeni Malkin, Pittsburgh teammate Sidney Crosby's agent, Pat Brisson, has spoken with the KHL's Metallurg Magnitogorsk about the possibility of joining the team.
"I heard that [Crosby's] agent called [GM Gennady] Velichkin, that's why there is such talk," Malkin said. "But you should understand that Crosby has huge insurance costs, so I don't know how he will settle these matters." Malkin, to no one's surprise, has been tearing up the KHL this year and he would welcome the chance to play alongside Crosby overseas. "Crosby is the best player in the world, that's why I miss playing with such a teammate," Malkin said. "It is a pleasure to play in the same team as him, moreover, in one line. I miss not only him, but also Pittsburgh, which has become my second hometown." Switzerland is also believed to be a possible destination for Crosby should the NHL season get canceled, as his agent has been busy working the phones since late November.
