The new CBA has yet to be ratified officially and the games won't be played until later in the month but Jarome Iginla's contract status with the Calgary Flames is already a hot-button issue.

Iginla, the face of the franchise and the Flames’ all-time leading scorer, is in the final year of his contract and due to become an unrestricted free-agent after the coming season. Considering his age — 35 — and where the team is in terms of Stanley Cup contention — long shot — the question of his plans is a biggie. "I didn’t expect that question so early. Yeah, it’s right back at it," Iginla said Monday after skating with teammates in Calgary. "I’m really just excited to get playing again and have that opportunity to play in the NHL and compete here in Calgary. It would be my preference to stay here, for sure, and play on a good team, which I believe we will be, and to win here. It is home."

Frederik Andersen left Saturday's game against Buffalo after the first period because of an upper-body injury.

The Leafs have already announced that he won't return. Curtis McElhinney is in the game in relief. This could be a devastating blow to Toronto's playoff hopes if Andersen's injury turns out to be a long-term issue.
Mar 25 - 8:40 PM

Mark Stone (lower body) will be back in the Senators' lineup Saturday.

Stone's return unfortunately corresponds with Viktor Stalberg leaving the lineup due to an upper-body injury. Stone has 22 goals and 50 points in 63 games this season. He missed seven straight contests.
Mar 25 - 5:28 PM

Patrick Sharp will undergo hip surgery on Tuesday.

Sharp has eight goals and 18 points in 48 games this season. The surgery will end Sharp's season, or at least keep him out for what little remains. This has been a very difficult season for Sharp, who had suffered two concussions and has played through his hip issue. On top of that, his father is battling leukemia. "It's been tough," Sharp said. "I knew it was going to be a challenging year with my father and what he has been going through. Looking back on the season, I probably could have handled my emotions a little better maybe."

Sergei Bobrovsky turned aside all 36 shots in a 1-0 victory against Philadelphia.

Bobrovsky earned his seventh shutout of the 2016-17 campaign. He's been red hot lately, allowing just three goals in his last four starts. He was already the NHL leader in GAA and save percentage going into this contest as he continues to make a strong case to win the Vezina Trophy for the second time.
Mar 25 - 4:53 PM

Brock Boeser scored the game-winning goal in his NHL debut.

Vancouver earned a 4-2 victory against the Minnesota Wild Saturday afternoon. The Canucks announced that they had signed Boeser to an entry-level contract mere hours before the game started. He was selected with the 23rd overall pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, but spent the past two seasons with the University of North Dakota rather than signing sooner. He had 16 goals and 34 points in 32 NCAA games this season.
Mar 25 - 4:41 PM

Aaron Ekblad (neck) will miss the Panthers' next five games.

That's Saturday's contest and the entirety of the Panthers' upcoming road trip. Ekblad has a sore neck and has been dealing with headaches. Panthers coach/GM Tom Rowe said that it's not related to Ekblad's concussion, which he was cleared of, but Rowe regrets allowing Ekblad to return from it on Tuesday. "I’m not going to lie, I wish we didn’t," Rowe said of Ekblad playing Tuesday. "That’s on me. The doctors cleared him, our medical staff cleared him but I had some reservations and I wish I stayed with my gut. That’s no one’s fault but my own." After Ekblad's latest issue, the Panthers are going to be very conservative with him.
Mar 25 - 2:23 PM

Laurent Brossoit is projected to start on Saturday.

It's just Brossoit's third start of the season and his first since Feb. 21. He has a 2.26 GAA and .928 save percentage in 2016-17.
Mar 25 - 1:40 PM

Tuukka Rask is dealing with a lower-body injury.

Rask missed Friday's practice, but his availability for Saturday's game wasn't necessarily revealed. We got a hint that this would be coming though when Boston summoned Zane McIntyre this morning. Saturday's game against the Islanders is critical for the Bruins' playoff hopes so to be missing Rask right now is a serious blow. Anton Khudobin will be called upon to start in his place.
Mar 25 - 12:28 PM

Carolina will likely start Eddie Lack on Saturday.

Lack was the first goaltender off the ice following the morning skate. He's been doing well lately, allowing two or fewer goals in each of his last five games.
Mar 25 - 12:14 PM

Michal Neuvirth will probably play between the pipes on Saturday.

It will be Neuvirth's first start since March 9. He has a 2.91 GAA and .887 save percentage in 26 games this season.
Mar 25 - 11:53 AM

Kyle Okposo is expected to be back in the lineup for Saturday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Okposo hasn't suited up since Mar. 2 due to a rib injury. He has 19 goals and 43 points in 63 games this season. Okposo is also going to be put on the power play right away, so he could have some decent value in standard fantasy leagues.
