After taking a puck in the eye at a conditioning camp in Minnesota last week, Edmonton forward Ryan Jones will be sidelined until early February, at least.

Jones had surgery. "Obviously," Jones said, "I'm thankful I still have my eye, that I can see. I flinched when the puck was coming, I like to think that saved me. The extent of the injury could have been a lot worse, so I'm choosing to stay positive. I'll be back playing, that's for sure, it's just a matter of what the timeline is."

Taylor Hall is day-to-day with a knee contusion.

Hall won't be able to play on Thursday, but the news overall is good. He went down with a knee-to-knee collision on Tuesday, so there was a chance that his injury would be more severe than this.

Brandon Dubinsky is expected to miss six-to-eight weeks with a fractured orbital bone.

In other words, Dubinsky is expected to be sidelined until late December or early January. He was hurt while fighting Edmonton's Zack Kassian on Tuesday. He has three goals and 12 points in 31 contests this season.
Dec 13 - 1:01 PM

Kari Lehtonen is expected to start for Dallas on Wednesday.

With this start, Lehtonen will set the record for the most games played by a Finnish goaltender. A victory on Wednesday would also make Lehtonen the 33rd netminder in history to reach the 300-win milestone.

Marcus Johansson (ankle) hasn't resumed skating.

With that in mind, Johansson has been ruled out for Thursday's game in Montreal. He won't even join the Devils on the one-game road trip. It will be his second straight contest on the sidelines.

Taylor Hall (knee) wasn't on the ice for Wednesday's morning skate.

Hall was hurt when he suffered a knee-on-knee hit during Tuesday's game. We don't know yet if he'll travel with the Devils to Montreal ahead of Thursday's contest versus the Canadiens.
Dec 13 - 12:29 PM

Marc-Andre Fleury returned to action Tuesday against the Hurricanes and he allowed two goals on 37 shots in a shootout loss.

It was Fleury's first appearance since Oct. 13 due to a concussion. He looked pretty sharp considering the lengthy layoff, but it's no surprise that once the game went to a shootout he might be at a disadvantage. Bench boss Gerard Gallant made it known the veteran would be making a majority of the starts now that he is healthy, so that's bad news for Malcolm Subban and any other Golden Knights backstops who held down the fort in Fleury's absence.
Dec 13 - 1:31 AM

Cam Ward allowed two goals on 24 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 shootout victory at Vegas, his 300th career win.

Ward is the 32nd goaltender in NHL history to reach 300 victories. He and the Hurricanes didn't have a lot of success last season in the shootout, and they dropped their past three games by one goal. So this was an impressive show of moxie by the young Hurricanes, beating one of the league's best teams at home so far this season. Ward has now won two of his past three starts.
Dec 13 - 1:18 AM

Patrick Kane scored the game-winning goal in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Florida Panthers.

Kane finished the game off at the 2:24 mark of the overtime period. After going four games without a point, the Blackhawks forward has picked up three points in his last two games. Kane now has 11 goals and 30 points in 31 games this season. Brandon Saad and Jonathan Toews also found the back of the net for the Blackhawks in the win.
Dec 12 - 11:39 PM

Devan Dubnyk suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's game against the Calgary Flames.

Dubnyk came out of the game after the first period and did not return. He had stopped all 10 shots he faced at that point. The Wild ended up winning the game 2-1 in a shootout with Alex Stalock allowing one goal on 17 shots in the victory. After the game, head coach Bruce Boudreau said he didn't have an update on Dubnyk's status. He's considered day-to-day for now.
Dec 12 - 11:18 PM

Patrick Marleau scored a goal, his 1,100th NHL point, in a 4-2 loss to the Philadelphia Flyers Tuesday night.

Marleau scored his milestone point in the opening period of the loss to the Flyers. The forward has 1,100 points in 1,525 career games. Marleau now has 11 goals and 18 points in 32 games this season.

Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped all 32 shots he faced in Tuesday's 3-0 win over the St. Louis Blues.

Vasilevskiy has now won four games in a row and five of his last six outings. This was the third shutout of the season for the Lightning goaltender. Vasilevskiy now has a 20-4-1 record with a 2.15 goals-against-average and a .933 save percentage this season. He'll continue to be one of the top fantasy options at his position.
