Ilya Kovalchuk is currently the only NHL player scheduled to play in the KHL All-Star Game on Sunday.

"The CBA will not be signed until Sunday, so Kovalchuk (has) no employment relationship with the NHL and he is going to Chelyabinsk," KHL vice-president Vladimir Shalaev told Sovietsky Sport. "We are disappointed that all the other NHL stars were quick to go to North America. Will Kovalchuk play in the KHL (until) the end of this season? Do not hurry up. Wait (until) Sunday." The NHL board of governors will ratify the CBA today (Wednesday) and the players are expected to ratify it on Saturday. Kovalchuk hasn't asked for nor has he been given permission to play in the All-Star contest by the Devils. In all these Kovalchuk stories there have been more questions than answers, but by the end of the week hopefully things will become clearer.

Nick Leddy is thriving with the Islanders as he has five goals and nine points in 20 games.

Leddy was dealt from the Blackhawks just before the start of the season and has been a force offensively for the suddenly respectable Islanders who are second in the Metropolitan Division with 28 points in 20 games. Leddy had 31 points last season for Chicago but is getting a much better chance to showcase his talents on Long Island than he would with the Blackhawks as he always had Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook in front of him on the depth charts. If available in deeper leagues, grab Leddy.

Jake Muzzin continued his hot play of late as he picked up an assist and was a plus-three on Saturday.

The Kings were on the wrong end of a 5-4 decision to Dallas but you could not blame Muzzin for the loss. He has 10 points in his last eight games and owned in only 44 percent of Yahoo pools. After going his first seven games with nary a point, he has really picked it up and should be owned in all fantasy pools.

Scott Clemmensen gave up four goals on 37 shots in the Devils’ 5-4 shootout loss to the Flames on Saturday night.

Clemmensen was making his first start of the season, as it gave Cory Schneider a night off after making 20 straight. That Clemmensen even got the Devils a point is a minor miracle because he was all over the place in the third period, giving up three goals on nine shots. Calgary was down 4-2, and scored twice — with 2:22 left and five seconds remaining to force overtime. Clemmensen has a 4.71 goals-against average and .852 save percentage this season.
Nov 23 - 1:30 AM

Marian Hossa led the Blackhawks' 7-1 rout of the Oilers with four points Saturday night.

The 35-year-old scored once and assisted three teams. Even with the performance, Hossa still has three goals and 15 points on the season. The puck luck hasn’t been there just yet, but when it does come, watch out. He has points in three straight games, with seven over that span. Jonathan Toews (two goals), Kris Versteeg (goal, assist), Patrick Kane (goal, assist), Duncan Keith (goal) and Marcus Kruger all contributed to the offense. Brandon Saad notched two assists.
Nov 23 - 1:19 AM

Jamie Benn powered the Stars to a 5-4 win over the Kings on Saturday night with two goals and an assist.

Benn had a quiet spell in which he tallied two assists in nine games, but he now has points in three straight — three goals and six assists altogether. He’s one of the game's best power forwards, with the chance to make something happen whenever he touches the puck. Benn has eight goals and 19 points this season and should get 30-plus goals and over 80 points when all is said and done. Tyler Seguin (goal, assist), John Klingberg (goal, assist) and Jason Demers picked up the other goals. Cody Eakin had two assists.
Nov 22 - 11:19 PM

Tyler Bozak netted two goals for the Maple Leafs in their 4-1 victory over the Red Wings on Saturday night.

The center got one shorthanded and one via the empty net, but they all count nonetheless. Through the Leafs’ ups and downs and constant scrutiny, Bozak has been a pretty productive player, with eight goals and 19 points this season. He is streaky and has been banged up in recent seasons, but when he’s in the lineup, he produces offensively. Leo Komarov and Peter Holland scored the other goals. Jake Gardiner led the team with five shots on goal.
Nov 22 - 10:37 PM

Jaroslav Halak won his sixth straight game as the Islanders defeated the Penguins on Saturday night 4-1.

Halak is on a roll right now, giving up a total of eight goals during his win streak. Saturday, he made 27 saves. A lack of good goaltending was one of flaws that separated the Islanders from the contenders over the last few years. Now they have it. Halak has a 2.42 goals-against average and .918 save percentage this season. He’s a sneaky-good number-one goalie in fantasy leagues.
Nov 22 - 10:07 PM

Jhonas Enroth blocked 43 shots in Buffalo’s 2-1 win over the Capitals on Saturday night.

Look no further than Enroth when determining how the Sabres won this game. Washington flat-out controlled this game after the first period, out-attempting the Sabres 67 to 39 during five-on-five play for the game. The Capitals outshot the Sabres 44 to 26, too. Enroth gave up the lone goal early in the third period. He has two wins in a row, with a 3.40 goals-against average and .908 save percentage. No Sabres goalies are worth using in fantasy leagues at this point.
Nov 22 - 9:55 PM

Mike Green sustained an upper-body injury against the Sabres.

The Capitals defenseman will not return to the game. Green played 10:56 and had four shots on goal. He has 12 points on the season. Green has been a very productive defenseman in his career, but that comes with the fact he can't seem to stay healthy for a full season.
Nov 22 - 9:21 PM

With a goal for Vladimir Tarasenko and an assist for Jori Lehtera and Jaden Schwartz, the "STL Line" now has 39 points in 11 games for the St. Louis Blues.

Tarasenko scored his goal on six SOG. Alexander Steen was just as strong, firing seven SOG of his own, collecting the GWG. The Blues beat the Ottawa Senators 3-2.
Nov 22 - 5:48 PM

Nothing official has been announced yet, but it looks like the Boston Bruins put Brad Marchand on injured reserve on Saturday.

That's according to the team's website, yet it hasn't been expanded upon at this point. Marchand's been sidelined since last Sunday. The 26-year-old has 11 points in 19 games so far this season. Boston faces the Montreal Canadiens tonight (Saturday).
