Lubomir Visnovsky did not report to Islanders training camp Monday because of "personal reasons," according to his agent Neil Sheehy.

Sheehy said that he did not know whether Visnovsky will remain with the KHL's Slovan Bratislava, but other reports indicated he would be traveling with the KHL club to Prague for their game on Tuesday. "The KHL has repeatedly said that they will not permit him to play, so I guess we will have to see what happens," NHL deputy commissioner Bill Daly said via email. It looks like that could be put to the test soon.

Matt Murray made 36 saves on 38 shots Saturday night as the Penguins downed the Flyers 4-2 in an outdoor stadium game.

Murray was perfect on 14 shots in the first and lasted 11:14 into the second before giving up a goal to Jakub Voracek. This raises his recent record to 6-2-2 in the last 10 games with a save percentage of .935. Murray has been sharing the net with Marc-Andre Fleury and has overshadowed him so far this season with a 23-7-3 record compared to Fleury’s 15-7-2. That makes him a great differentiator on a fantasy player’s lineup.

Jakub Voracek scored his 16th goal of the season in a 4-2 loss to the Penguins Saturday night.

Voracek has scored five points on the strength of two goals and three assists in his last seven games. He had four shots on goal Saturday. That was the 24th time in 61 games this season that he has made four or more shots. That equates to 39 percent of the time and makes Voracek a consistently good fantasy value.

Auston Matthews scored both goals in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Canadians Saturday night.

Matthews scored the opening goal in the contest halfway through the first period. He scored his second early in the third to tie the game. This goal forced overtime. Matthews also led his team with seven shots on goal. These two goals brought his season total to 30, tying fellow freshman Patrik Laine of the Jets and veteran Kings' center Jeff Carter for second in the league.

Mika Zibanejad snapped his 15-game goal drought in dramatic fashion during Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Devils.

After getting bailed out twice by Antti Raanta to begin his shift, Zibanejad was able to freeze and then score through the five-hole on Cory Schneider for the game winner in the extra frame. Tack on his assist earlier in the game, and he has eight goals and 24 points in 36 games.

Juuse Saros stopped 24 of 26 shots Saturday and netted the 5-2 win over the Caps.

Pekka Rinne needed the night off heading into Edmonton and Saros really needed this win. His last five games resulted in a 1-2-2 record with a save percentage of only .887 and an average 3.2 goals per game. Saturday night, he improved to a .923 save percentage with only two goals against.
Feb 25 - 8:32 PM

Joonas Korpisalo stopped all 24 shots aimed at him to earn his first career shutout in a 7-0 victory over the Islanders Saturday night.

Korpisalo was playing in his seventh game of the season with the Jackets. In his previous six, he earned a record of 4-1-0. His other effort was 13 minutes of ice time in a 4-2 loss to these same Islanders, so this gave him more than a measure of revenge even though he was not the decision-maker in that game.

The Kings have activated Jonathan Quick from injured reserve.

He's seen just one game of action this season, NHL or otherwise. Normally it'd be surprising to see him go straight into action, but both Dean Lombardi and Darryl Sutter to expect as much. We'll keep you posted on if he'll make his debut tonight against the Ducks.
Feb 25 - 3:36 PM

Commissioner Gary Bettman has decided to uphold Antoine Vermette's 10-game suspension.

After hearing the appeal of Vermette, the Ducks and the Players' Association, Bettman wasn't swayed to move from a clearly stated rule that if you abuse the refs physically in any way, you're banned for at least 10 games. Vermette is eligible to return March. 12th

Per GM Dean Lombardi, Jonathan Quick's long-awaited activation off I/R may come as soon as Saturday.

Which would be in time for today's match with the Ducks. Lombardi was cagey, to say the least, about the proverbial odds of his top netminder's return. But we've known that this was around the time he was potentially capable of coming back. We'll know more soon enough, so stay tuned!

Matt Murray will get the Stadium Series start against the Flyers on Saturday.

As if one expected otherwise. Murray has a 22-7-3 record with a 2.27 GAA and a .926 save percentage this season. He's only played the Flyers once in his career, winning once while stopping 39 of 41 shots.

Patrick Eaves hopes to play for Anaheim on Saturday after the Ducks acquired him Friday afternoon.

Anaheim sent Dallas a conditional second rounder that can be upgrades to a first if the Ducks make it to the Conference Final and Eaves plays in at least half of the games. "I was a little disoriented because I was taking a pregame nap for the game tonight," Eaves said, referring to when he found out about the trade. "It got me out of bed really quick, that’s for sure. I was excited. Your world gets turned upside down real quick. I want to get out there as soon as possible, and fortunately we have an afternoon game tomorrow, so I’m getting ready for that." Eaves has 21 goals and 37 points in 59 contests this season, which already represents career-highs for him in goals and points.
