Corey Crawford stopped 46 of 47 shots in Chicago's 2-1 shootout win over Edmonton.

The Oilers fired a lot of rubber at Crawford but he was more than up for the challenge. The Hawks' goaltender also stopped all three of Edmonton's shooters (Derek Roy, Jordan Eberle and Teddy Purcell) in the shootout. Crawford has now picked up a win in each of his last three games and he has allowed just three goals during that span. He has a 26-14-4 record with a 2.26 goals-against-average and a .922 save percentage in 44 games this season. He was named the game's first star for his effort.

Justin Abdelkader scored a pair of goals in Friday's 5-2 loss to Calgary.

Abdelkader actually scored the first two goals of the game, but the Flames eventually responded with five unanswered goals. One of Abdelkader's goals was scored at even strength while the other was scored on the power play. Both Henrik Zetterberg and Erik Cole registered two assists in the contest. Abdelkader now has 16 goals and 34 points in 56 games with the Wings this season. The loss ends Detroit's three-game winning streak.

Andrew Hammond turned aside 24 of 26 shots in Friday's 3-2 win over Buffalo.

Hammond has yet to lose a game in regulation since taking over as the Senators' starting goaltender. Things didn't look good for the Senators early on, as they trailed Buffalo 2-0 after one and 2-1 after two. Ottawa got third period goals from Mika Zibanejad and Mark Stone to escape with the win. Hammond's record improves to 7-0-1 and he has a stellar 1.43 goals-against-average and a .954 save percentage in nine games this season. Ottawa is now just three points behind Boston for the final Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference.

Brandon Dubinsky scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 3-2 win over New Jersey.

This was Dubinsky's first game back in Columbus' lineup after suffering a concussion on February 26th against Montreal. The injury forced him to miss three games, but Dubinsky didn't miss a beat. The 28-year-old picked up an assist on Justin Falk's first period goal and he extended Columbus' lead to 2-0 in the second frame. Dubinsky has nine goals and 24 points in 35 games this season. The win ends a seven game losing streak for Columbus.

Zach Parise scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 3-1 win over Carolina.

Don't look now, but the Wild are on an incredible run. They have now won five games in a row and eight of their last nine. Parise picked up an assist on Mikael Granlund's game-winning goal in the third period before scoring a goal of his own less than two minutes later. The 30-year-old now has 26 goals and 50 points in 58 games this season. Parise has now registered back-to-back multi-point games for the Wild. Charlie Coyle also scored for Minnesota.
Mar 6 - 9:42 PM

Thomas Greiss will play between the pipes on Friday.

Greiss has a 2.82 GAA and .906 save percentage in 14 contests this season. He's won three of his last four games, but he allowed at least three goals in three of those contests.

The Boston Bruins have signed Reilly Smith to a two-year, $6.85 million contract extension.

Smith will consequently come with an annual cap hit of $3,425,000 through the 2016-17 campaign. He has 12 goals and 35 points in 63 games this season. Smith, who comes with a $1.4 million cap hit in 2014-15, would have become a restricted free agent this summer.
Mar 6 - 11:49 AM

Torey Krug has agreed to a one-year, $3.4 million extension with Boston.

Krug is getting a big raise over the $1.4 million he's earning for the 2014-15 campaign. That's to be expected though as he has 11 goals and 31 points in 59 contests. He would have been eligible to become a restricted free agent this summer.

Nathan MacKinnon is expected to miss the next six-to-eight weeks with a fractured foot.

There's only five weeks left in the regular season, so it seems safe to drop MacKinnon in standard fantasy leagues. With 14 goals and 38 points in 64 contests, it's fair to say that MacKinnon's sophomore season didn't go as planned, but he's certainly not the first player to take a step back in his second season. We'll be looking for him to bounce back in 2015-16.
Mar 6 - 11:43 AM

Jaroslav Halak allowed three goals on 31 shots as the Islanders topped the Nashville Predators 4-3 on Thursday night.

Halak improves to 34-13-1, just two wins shy of league-leader Carey Price and one short of Pekka Rinne, who he beat on Thursday. His .911 save percentage and 2.48 goals against average aren't quite in the league of the two goalies mentioned, but as long as he keeps scooping up the victories, Halak is one of the best fantasy goaltenders in the game right now.
Mar 6 - 1:47 AM

Pekka Rinne couldn't handle the potent Islanders offense on Thursday night as he surrendered four goals on 26 shots for his fourth straight loss.

Rinne has allowed 14 goals in his past four games in what has been one of his worst stretches of the season so far. Nashville has faced tough competition though with Detroit, Minnesota and both New York teams providing the losses. He still has a marvelous 35-12-3 record with a .926 save percentage and 2.14 goals against average.
