Wallace has 16 points and 42 penalty minutes in 37 AHL games this season. He might return to the Hurricanes at some point in 2013 as an injury replacement.

Friday's game between the New York Rangers and Buffalo Sabres at First Niagara Center has been postponed.

The NHL made the announcement on Thursday because of weather-related issues in the Greater Buffalo area. It's been bombarded with snow over the past couple of days. A makeup date hasn't been set yet.

Alexander Semin will be a healthy scratch on Thursday when the Hurricanes play at Los Angeles.

He's been a healthy scratch for two games already this season. Semin has no goals and five assists in 14 appearances. Brad Malone, who was scratched on Tuesday, will play in Semin's place.

Patrick Sharp (lower body) is close to getting back on the ice.

He might join the Blackhawks on their road trip at some point, but he is "doubtful" to play. When Sharp is able to resume skating it may not be long before he is back in the lineup.

Eddie Lack will be between the pipes for Vancouver Thursday against Anaheim.

Ryan Miller played in Wednesday's 5-4 win over Edmonton, so he'll get the night off. Lack's last start came versus the Ducks in a 2-1 shootout win back on Nov. 9.

Pavel Datsyuk (groin) won't play Thursday night.

He might be available to return on Saturday against Toronto. Datsyuk has sat out three of Detroit's last five games with a groin injury.

Carolina has claimed Andrej Nestrasil off waivers from Detroit.

He is expected to join the Hurricanes on their current road trip. "Andrej is a young player with good size who we feel can contribute to our group of forwards," GM Ron Francis said. "He has improved in each of his pro seasons and took a big step last year with Grand Rapids." Nestrasil picked up two assists in 13 games with the Red Wings prior to being waived.

Nashville coach Peter Laviolette told local radio station 94.9 Game 2 that Carter Hutton would get the call for Thursday's game versus Ottawa.

The Predators' backup goalie has played in just two games this season and his last appearance came on Nov. 4 against Winnipeg. Hutton has good peripherals, with a .935 save percentage and a 1.95 GAA, but he hasn't picked up a win yet this season.

He hasn't played since Nov. 9 and he's allowed nine goals against in his past two appearances, so he'll be looking to get back on track.

Jack Johnson filed for bankruptcy on Oct. 7.

Johnson reportedly had given his parents power over his finances and they took advantage of the situation by taking out a series of loans against his contract and used it to purchase cars for themselves, a house, and other things. It got so bad that Johnson reportedly had more than $10 million in debt and had assets of less than $50,000. "I'd say I picked the wrong people who led me down the wrong path," Johnson said. "I've got people in place who are going to fix everything now. It's something I should have done a long time ago."

Backup goalie Cameron Talbot turned in a gem Wednesday night, sparking the New York Rangers to a 2-0 shutout victory over the visiting Philadelphia Flyers.

Talbot, playing his sixth game of the season because the Rangers gave first-stringer Henrik Lundqvist the night off, had what was easily his best game of the season, kicking aside all 31 of Philly's shots, five of which were fired by Jakub Voracek. Talbot's goals-against average improved to 2.70. His save percentage is now .908. The shutout was Talbot's first win of the season. It was his first shutout since a 26-save, 5-0 victory against the Edmonton Oilers on March 30, 2014. Talbot's record this season is 1-2-1. The Rangers, who will face the Buffalo Sabres on the road Friday, snapped a three-game losing streak. The Flyers now have lost three straight.

Petr Mrazek will get the nod for Detroit on Thursday versus Winnipeg.

He has appeared in 11 games with the Red Wings the past two seasons, where he's posted a 3-5-0 record along with a 1.80 goals-against average and a .926 save percentage. Adjust your lineup accordingly.
