Former 50 goal scorer Jonathan Cheechoo, has signed a professional tryout with the Oklahoma City Barons of the AHL.

The Barons are reeling as they have lost the services of Jordan Eberle, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins, Taylor Hall and Justin Schultz who were recalled to the NHL once the lockout ended. The Barons are looking for some scoring and Cheechoo, who is still only 32, may be able to provide it. He had 56 points in 70 games for Peoria last season but was unable to find a team with the lockout in force. A long-time NHL scout said that Cheechoo did not adjust well to the faster game of late. "He lost his legs," said one longtime NHL pro scout. "It was sad to see, really. First it was the legs, then everything seemed to go. He couldn't get to where he needed to be (to score)."

Evgenii Dadonov will be back in the lineup Tuesday night.

Dadonov has been sidelined since Nov. 25 with a suspected shoulder injury and he was originally given a four-to-six week timetable. Coach Bob Boughner said recently that Dadonov could be back sooner, but this still comes as a bit of a surprise. He has seven goals and 18 points in 22 games this year. Feel free to get him back in your lineup even though he isn't expected to play immediately on the top line.
Dec 12 - 6:49 PM

Braden Holtby will start Tuesday night against Colorado.

Holtby was yanked after just 21:34 of action on Monday night against the Islanders after he allowed three goals on 12 shots. Coach Barry Trotz will go back to him versus the Avalanche.
Dec 12 - 5:05 PM

Corey Perry is listed as week-to-week with a lower-body injury.

Coach Randy Carlyle also announced that Perry will be evaluated again in a week. The good news is that he wasn't on crutches Tuesday morning and was working out at Honda Center. He left Monday's game with a lower-body injury.
Dec 12 - 3:08 PM

Marc-Andre Fleury will make his return to the crease on Tuesday night.

Fleury was the first goaltender off the ice at the morning skate and will get the start versus Carolina. He hasn't played since Oct. 13 because of a concussion. Fluery had a 3-1-0 record with a 2.48 goals-against average and a .925 save percentage in four appearances before he got hurt.
Dec 12 - 2:01 PM

Auston Matthews (upper body) will not be back in the lineup on Tuesday night at Philadelphia.

Dec 12 - 12:04 PM

Dec 12 - 10:33 AM

Matt Murray (lower body) has been activated from injured reserve.

Murray missed the last five games with a lower-body injury, but he is ready to return to the crease. He has posted an 11-7-1 record this year with a 2.95 goals-against average and a .906 save percentage this campaign. Get him back in your lineup.
Dec 12 - 10:09 AM

Alex Pietrangelo (lower body) has been moved to injured reserve.

Pietrangelo didn't play Sunday after he was hurt on a blocked shot Saturday. It's unclear how long he will be sidelined for at this time. Pietrangelo logs heavy minutes and there's a significant hole in the lineup of the Blues without him. He also has seven goals and 23 points in 30 games this season.
Dec 12 - 10:02 AM

Corey Perry suffered a lower body injury in the first period and will not return.

Perry played only 3:49 before ending his night. He was a minus-one and saw his four game points streak come to an end. He has 22 points this season, tops on the Ducks. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Dec 12 - 12:13 AM

Alexander Kerfoot suffered a lower-body injury in Monday's game against the Penguins.

He appeared to suffer the injury in the second period when he was hit by a slapshot from teammate Erik Johnson. Kerfoot is considered day-to-day at this point.
Dec 11 - 11:55 PM

Mathieu Perreault scored two goals and an assist in Monday's 5-1 win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Perreault's first goal proved to be the game-winner, as it gave the Jets a 2-1 lead in the second period. He then helped set up Nikolaj Ehlers' power play goal before scoring another one in the final minute of regulation. Perreault now has nine goals and nine assists in 19 games this season. He's accumulated eight points in his last six contests.
