Roman Cervenka (blood clots) has been given the green light to start practicing Thursday.

Cervenka might be available for Saturday's game, but that hasn't been decided yet. He's been recovering from a blood clot since he was hit in the leg during a European game in December. He's regarded as one of the best active players that have never participated in an NHL contest.

Mike Ribeiro has agreed to a two-year, $7 million contract with the Nashville Predators.

Nashville took a chance on Ribeiro last summer, inking him to a one-year, $1.05 million deal and it worked out for both sides. He scored 15 goals and 62 points in 82 contests, so this isn't a bad deal for the Predators.

Kevin Bieksa has inked a two-year, $8 million extension.

Bieksa still has a season left on his five-year, $23 million deal. In other words, once his present contract experiences, his cap hit will actually go down. He had four goals, 14 points, and 77 penalty minutes in 60 contests with Vancouver in 2014-15.
Jul 1 - 9:53 AM

Artem Anisimov has reportedly sign a five-year, $22.75 million extension with the Chicago Blackhawks.

That's a $4.55 million annual cap hit. Anisimov will come with a roughly $3.3 million cap hit for the 2014-15 campaign though as he wraps up his existing three-year deal. He was acquired by the Blackhawks as part of the Brandon Saad trade. Anisimov had seven goals and 27 points in 52 contests in 2014-15.

Anthony Leblanc, Coyotes owner, and NHL deny team moving to Las Vegas.

The New York Post claimed two unidentified sources indicated the Coyotes were being sold to billionaire William Foley and moved to Las Vegas. However, when the story was published Tuesday evening, Bettman said the story "was garbage." Leblanc said the story was 'one hundred per cent false. There's no truth to it. I'm not an unidentified source, I'm a principal, so I think I should know." The Arizona Coyotes saga is very interesting to say the least.

Brandon Saad has been traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets.

Columbus also received Michael Paliotta and Alex Broadhurst from Chicago, while the Blackhawks acquired Jeremy Morin, Corey Tropp, Artem Anisimov, Marko Dano and fourth-round pick in 2016. Changes were expected to come for the Blackhawks due to the cap and Saad, who is set to be a restricted free agent, becomes a casualty as a result.

Updating a previous item, Drew Stafford has signed a two-year/$8.7 million contract with the Winnipeg Jets.

Stafford had only nine goals and 24 points in 50 games for the Sabres before he was dealt to Winnipeg in the Evander Kane deal. He was a different player with the Jets as he had nine goals and 19 points in only 24 matches. He should be drafted in the late middle rounds in deeper drafts next season.
Jun 30 - 3:27 PM

Martin Jones has been traded to the San Jose Sharks for a 2016 first-round draft pick and unsigned prospect Sean Kuraly.

Jones has a 16-11-2 record with a .923 save percentage and a 1.99 goals-against average in 34 games with the Los Angeles Kings over the past two seasons. He was just acquired by the Bruins in the Milan Lucic deal, but now his fantasy stock has improved considerably as he has a good chance of being the starting goalie for the Sharks.

A source told ESPN.com that Mike Richards is part of an ongoing investigation by the Royal Canadian Mounted Police for an off-ice incident.

A spokesperson for the RCMP in Manitoba said that no charges have been brought so far, but mentioned that the Canadian Border Services is also involved in the investigation. Richards had his contract terminated by the Kings on Monday for "a material breach of the requirements of his Standard Player's Contract." Several sources told ESPN.com that the Kings were made aware of the investigation on Friday, which halted trade talks for the center at the draft.

Alexander Semin has been placed on unconditional waivers with the intent of buying out the rest of his contract.

He has three years remaining on his deal and his buyout is set to cost the Hurricanes $14 million over six seasons. Semin generated just six goals and 13 assists in 57 games last season, but don't be surprised if another team takes a chance on him with a one-year contract.

As expected, Nicklas Lidstrom is part of the 2015 class for the Hockey Hall of Fame.

He was elected by a selection committee of 18 on Monday and will be inducted into the Hall on Nov. 9 in Toronto. His 20-year NHL career, all with the Red Wings, saw him play 1,564 games (fourth among defensemen) and he racked up 1,142 points. Lidstrom's trophy case includes four Stanley Cups, seven Norris Trophies, a Conn Smythe Trophy and an Olympic Gold Medal. He was a lock to be inducted and it is easy to see why he is considered one of the greatest defensemen ever. Joining Lidstrom in the Hall of Fame will be Sergei Fedorov, Chris Pronger, Phil Housley, Angela Ruggiero, Peter Karmanos and Bill Hay.
