Jason Spezza (upper body) won't be available for Wednesday's contest versus Montreal.

Coach Paul MacLean said that Spezza is "still being evaluated" to determine how much longer he will be sidelined after he missed Tuesday's match against Washington as well. The Senators are being mum on his status, which is resulting in some speculation that he could be out of action for an extended period. We'll keep you posted.

Leon Draisaitl (concussion) could return to action as early as Tuesday.

Draisaitl has missed the last four games with the injury and the Oilers have missed his offensive output as they are struggling to score goals. He will be back with Connor McDavid as soon as he returns and that will help both in the scoring department. Stay tuned.

Jaromir Jagr has been placed on the injured reserve list with a lower body injury.

The injury happened during Saturday's game and it's a shame as he was on the top line with Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau. Consider him day-to-day for now and reserve him on your squad. He has two assists in five games but those numbers will improve once he returns if he is able to remain on the top line.

Sven Baertschi's first two goals of the season drove the Canucks past the Red Wings 4-1 on Sunday.

Baertschi now has five points through eight games, a solid start for the 25-year-old who managed 35 points in 68 games last season. Bo Horvat also had two points to help Vancouver win their second straight.

Malcolm Subban is expected to be sidelined for about four weeks with a lower-body injury.

Vegas doesn't have number one goalie Marc-Andre Fleury because of a concussion and now Subban is out for an extended period as well. They are both on injured reserve. Subban has a 2-0 record with a 2.06 goals-against average and a .936 save percentage in three appearances with the Golden Knights.

That's great news for Boyle who was diagnosed with the illness during training camp. We hope he is healthy and has a successful return to the NHL.

Jaromir Jagr suffered a lower body injury in the first period Saturday and did not return.

If you were thinking about claiming Jagr this week, just hold on, as the extent of the injury is unknown. It's too bad as he looked to have plenty of chemistry with Sean Monahan and Johnny Gaudreau. Jagr has only two assists in five games but he had looked good until the injury Saturday. Stay tuned.
