Matt Murray will start for the Penguins on Saturday.

Murray returned from a lower-body injury on Wednesday, but he's spent the last two contests as the backup goaltender. He's struggled this season with a 4-5-1 record, 4.08 GAA, and .877 save percentage in 11 contests.
Dec 15 - 5:11 PM

Kris Letang is dealing with a lower-body injury.

Letang will not play on Saturday and is regarded as day-to-day beyond that. He has seven goals and 25 points in 30 contests this season.
Dec 15 - 5:09 PM

Jonathan Toews had two goals and one assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Winnipeg Jets.

Toews' first goal tied the game at one in the first period, while his second made it 2-1 for his team in the second frame. He also registered an assist on Erik Gustafsson's game-tying goal with eight seconds left in regulation. Unfortunately for the 'Hawks, Jets forward Mark Scheifele, who had a three-point night of his own, scored the game-winner in OT. Toews now has back-to-back three-point performances. He's up to 16 goals and 30 points in 34 games this season. It's been a rough year for the 'Hawks, but Toews is having a nice bounce-back season.
Dec 14 - 11:50 PM

Mark Scheifele scored two goals and one assist in Friday's 4-3 OT win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Scheifele opened the scoring with a power-play marker in the first period. He also added a helper on Mathieu Perreault's go-ahead goal (3-2) in the second frame. The Jets forward eventually scored the game-winner in overtime, too. Scheifele finished the game with minus-1 rating, three shots on goal and one blocked shot in 21:20 of ice time. The 25-year-old has accumulated 11 points during his current four-game point streak. He's up to 20 goals and 43 points in 32 games this season. He's a must-start in all fantasy formats.
Dec 14 - 11:43 PM

Colton Parayko scored a pair of goals in Friday's 4-3 OT win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Parayko scored the game's first goal at the 3:24 mark of the first period, and he added the go-ahead goal (3-2) in the third period. He finished the game with a plus-3 rating and five shots on goal in 28:09 of ice time. The 25-year-old has now scored seven goals and 10 points in 30 games this season. There are rumblings that he could be on his way out of St. Louis. Tonight's performance certainly won't hurt his value on the trade market. Ryan O'Reilly scored the game-winner in overtime.
Dec 14 - 11:21 PM

Sebastian Aho had two goals and two assists in Friday's 6-5 shootout loss to the Washington Capitals.

The Hurricanes managed to go up 4-1 on the Caps in the second period, but they also allowed their opponent to score four consecutive goals. Trailing 5-4 in the third frame, the 'Canes got the equalizing goal from captain Justin Williams with just over six minutes remaining in regulation. In the end, they ended up dropping the decision in the shootout. Aho finished the night with a power-play goal, a shorthanded goal, a power-play assist and an even-strength helper. The 21-year-old has seven points during his current four-game point streak. He's up to 11 goals and 33 points in 31 games this season. He's a must-own in all fantasy formats.
Dec 14 - 10:55 PM

Alex Ovechkin scored a hat trick in Friday's 6-5 shootout win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

This is the second consecutive game that Ovechkin has managed to score three goals. Two of the three goals came after the Caps were trailing 4-1 in the second period. In the end, Jakub Vrana managed to secure the victory in the shootout for Washington. Ovechkin finished the night with a plus-1 rating, two penalty minutes, five shots on goal and two hits in 21:10 of ice time. So much for his Stanley-Cup hangover. Ovechkin now has 28 goals in 31 games this season. He's on pace to score 74 goals in 2018-19. That won't happen, but what he's been able to do this season is nothing short of remarkable. He's the best goal scorer of this generation.
Dec 14 - 10:51 PM

Dylan Larkin found the back of the net during Friday's 4-2 loss to the Ottawa Senators.

The Red Wings were down 2-0 in the first period, but they managed to tie the game up thanks to goals by Luke Glendening and Larkin. Unfortunately for the Wings, the Sens scored two more in the third frame to go ahead 4-2. Larkin finished the night with four penalty minutes and eight shots on goal in 21:01 of ice time. Larkin has now scored in three consecutive games and he's riding a six-game point streak. The 22-year-old has 14 goals and 31 points in 33 games this season. He's a strong fantasy option in most leagues.
Dec 14 - 10:41 PM

Chris Tierney scored a pair of goals in Friday's 4-2 win over the Detroit Red Wings.

He finally put an end to his 10-game goalless drought. Tierney opened the scoring at the 8:19 mark of the first period, and he also put the game away with an empty-netter on the power play in the final minute of regulation. He finished the night with four shots on goal and three blocked shots in 20:42 of ice time. The 24-year-old has five goals and 22 points in 33 games with the Sens this season. He's not worth adding in any fantasy format.
Dec 14 - 10:38 PM

Zach Aston-Reese scored two goals and an assist in Friday's 5-3 win over the Boston Bruins.

Aston-Reese helped set up Phil Kessel's goal in the second frame before he scored a shorthanded tally before the end of the period. He then added an insurance marker late in the game. The Penguins had 2-0 and 3-1 leads in this one, but the Bruins managed to tie the game at three in the third frame. Thankfully for Pittsburgh, they were able to recover. Aston-Reese finished the night with a plus-2 rating, five shots on goal and nine hits in 14:13 of ice time. The 24-year-old has four goals and seven points in 18 games this season. He shouldn't pop up on your fantasy radar.
