Coyotes forward Raffi Torres is expected to be back in the Phoenix lineup tonight after serving the remainder of his 21-game suspension for a hit that knocked Marian Hossa out of last year's playoffs.

Torres was initially given a 25-game ban before it was shortened to 21. He sat out 13 playoff games last spring.

Jonathan Drouin won't be in the lineup on Monday night.

He played back-to-back games in the AHL on Friday and Saturday prior to his recall on Sunday. Drouin also attended practice with the Lightning on Monday, so it's been a busy few days. The talented rookie is expected to play soon, as Tampa Bay continues their road trip.

It looks like Pavel Datsyuk (shoulder) is close to returning to Detroit's lineup.

He practiced on the Wings' top line Monday with Henrik Zetterberg and Justin Abdelkader. Datsyuk also saw tome on the top power-play unit. A decision on his status won't be made until after Tuesday's game-day skate, but he may play against Montreal.
Oct 20 - 2:09 PM

Patrik Nemeth (arm) will miss the rest of the regular season.

That's troubling news for the promising 22-year-old defenseman. Nemeth's arm was cut by a skate in Saturday's game against Philadelphia and it will cost him the remainder of the 2014-15 campaign after just five appearances.
Oct 20 - 2:03 PM

Victor Hedman (hand) is expected to miss the next four-to-six weeks.

That's a significant blow to the Lightning. Hedman was off to a fantastic start this season, with three goals and seven points in five games, after he broke out offensively last year. He will undergo surgery on Tuesday to repair a fractured finger.
Oct 20 - 12:51 PM

Paul Stastny is being listed as week-to-week with a shoulder injury.

He was wearing a sling Sunday after he was injured on Saturday. Keep him on your bench for now.
Oct 20 - 12:31 PM

Slava Voynov has been suspended indefinitely by the NHL.

Voynov was arrested this morning on charges of domestic violence. The NHL is conducting an investigation into the matter. This comes after the intense scrutiny the NFL faced for its handling of its recent domestic violence incidents, including the initial two-game suspension of Ray Rice, which was seen by many as light under the circumstances.
Oct 20 - 10:39 AM

Curtis McElhinney (head/neck) has been placed on the injured reserve list.

McElhinney will consequently be out for at least a week. It's not clear if he suffered a concussion. Officially, the Blue Jackets have announced that he has an upper-body injury despite coach Todd Richards admitting that the injury is to his head.
Oct 20 - 8:11 AM

Rick Nash scored his league-leading seventh goal of the season in New York’s 4-0 win over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday.

Nash scored late in the second period to make it 3-0 for the Rangers. It’s nice to see that his concussion issues are behind him. The 30-year-old was limited to 65 games last season. Nash now has eight points in six games. He’s back to being one of the better snipers in the league. Carl Hagelin, Martin St. Louis and Kevin Hayes also scored for the Rangers.
Oct 19 - 7:42 PM

Henrik Lundqvist stopped all 33 shots he faced in New York’s 4-0 win over the San Jose Sharks on Sunday.

After allowing six goals in back-to-back games, Lundqvist has now allowed just one goal in his last two starts. Despite the slow start, the Rangers goaltender should still be considered an elite goalie in the NHL.
Oct 19 - 7:42 PM

The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forward Jonathan Drouin from Syracuse of the AHL.

Drouin suffered a thumb injury in camp and was sent to the AHL on a conditioning assignment last week. He should get an opportunity to cement his place in Tampa Bay's lineup.
Oct 19 - 6:19 PM

Ryan Suter registered an assist and played a game-high 32:50 in Minnesota’s 2-1 loss to Los Angeles on Sunday.

32:50 is a season-high for Suter. The 29-year-old got an assist on Matt Cooke’s third period goal. Even though Minnesota has struggled to score of late, Suter is having himself a very good season. He has one goal and three assists in four games this year. The Wild outshot the Kings 41-16, but Los Angeles goaltender Jonathan Quick got the better of Minnesota.
