Brian Elliott will get the start in goal for St. Louis on Saturday.

The Blues take on the Edmonton Oilers. Elliott is coming off a 2-1 shootout win over Winnipeg on Thursday in which he kicked out 30 shots. He is 19-9-2 this season with a 2.21 GAA and a .921 save percentage.

Jaroslav Halak picked up his 33rd win of the season on Friday to set a New York Islanders record for wins in a season.

Halak was sharing the record of 32 held by Billy Smith, Rick Di Pietro and Chris Osgood before the win over the Flames on Friday. Halak is 33-13-0 with a 2.46 GAA and a .911 save percentage. He is expected to get the night off on Saturday.

Damon Severson (ankle) could return to the New Jersey lineup as early as Tuesday.

By the time Tuesday rolls around Severson will have missed 31 games. He got off to a great start and led the Devils in power play time on ice before his injury so look for him to regain his spot on the point eventually. "It feels like it's soon. My body, as far as the ankle, is healed. My conditioning is just a step off," Severson said. "I need those few extra days of conditioning to make sure I'm back up to speed. "I'm just waiting to get back. It's been a long wait. Every day it's gotten a little better. I haven't had any setbacks or anything like that, so that's been a positive for me." Stay tuned as Severson had four goals and 12 points in 32 games with six assists on the power play before getting hurt on December 15.

The Newark Star-Ledger is reporting that Lou Lamoriello will remain the GM of the New Jersey Devils even if they miss the playoffs.

Well, missing the playoffs looks like a certainty with the Devils in 12th place, nine points out of eighth. "He knows the game and he knows the game well," goaltender Cory Schneider said. "I think sometimes he even has a different perspective of the game than most other people do."

Sergei Bobrovsky (groin) is expected to skate on his own Saturday morning.

The Blue Jackets will not practice on Saturday morning so this skate could determine whether or not Bobrovsky is ready to return to action as he has been out of the lineup since January 21. If not, Oscar Dansk could get his first NHL start in his career.

Cody Eakin scored two goals and an assist in Friday's 5-4 shootout loss to Colorado.

Eakin opened the scoring at the 2:45 mark of the second period and he extended the Stars' lead to 3-1 early in the third. The 23-year-old also had three shots and a plus-1 rating in 17:15 of ice time. Eakin now has 14 goals and 28 points in 59 games this season. Jason Spezza and Antoine Roussel also scored for the Stars.

Tyson Barrie scored a goal and two assists in Friday's 5-4 shootout win over Dallas.

Barrie was a plus-3 in just under 19 minutes of action. He also had two shots, two penalty minutes and two hits in the game. The three-point effort ties a career-high for him. Barrie has 10 goals and 39 points in 60 games this season. The 39 points are also a new career-high for the 23-year-old defenseman. Jarome Iginla, Nate Guenin and Gabriel Landeskog also scored for the Avs.

Ben Bishop stopped all 28 shots he faced in Friday's 4-0 win over Chicago.

Bishop has now won four consecutive starts dating back to February 15th. The 28-year-old hasn't allowed more than two goals in any of those four games. His record improves to 31-10-3 and he has a 2.36 goals-against-average and a .914 save percentage this season. He will be one of the better fantasy goaltenders down the stretch.

Steve Stamkos scored two goals in Friday's 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks.

The 25-year-old has now scored six goals and one assist in his last seven games. Stamkos is having another fine offensive season but he is under a point-per-game for the first time since his rookie season in 2008-09. He has 34 goals and 57 points in 63 games this season. He is on pace to score 44 goals in 2014-15. Brian Boyle and Ryan Callahan also scored for the Lightning.

Anton Khudobin stopped 28 shots in Friday's 3-0 win over Washington.

The loss ends Khudobin's four-game winless streak. He hadn't won a game since January 27th. The 28-year-old has mostly served as Cam Ward's backup this season. His record improves to 7-11-3 on the season and he has a 2.60 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage in 2014-15. This was Khudobin's first shutout of the season. He has named the game's first star for his effort.

Jeff Skinner scored a goal in Carolina's 3-0 win over Washington.

The Hurricanes have consistently been one of the Eastern Conference's worst teams this season, so the fact that they were able to blank the Capitals is a little surprising. Carolina scored a goal in each of the three periods on Friday. Skinner has now scored a goal in each of his last three games. The 22-year-old has 16 goals and 25 points in 55 games this season. He was named the second star of the game. Carolina has now won three of their last four contests.
