Todd Bertuzzi (back) is feeling better but won't join the Detroit Red Wings on their upcoming road trip.

Bertuzzi has been receiving injections and at 38 years old will take longer to recover than a younger player. There's no timetable for his return and it's difficult to recommend holding onto him in such a shortened season.

The New Jersey Devils have officially announced John Hynes as their new head coach.

Hynes is 40 years old, which makes him the youngest bench boss in the NHL. He was the head coach of the AHL's Wilkes Barre-Scranton Penguins for five years. He posted a 231-126-8-13 record with them and made it to at least the second round in each of those campaigns.

Duncan Keith has averaged 31:35 of ice time per game in the playoffs.

That's more than any player who is still skating in the postseason and his total time on ice of 537:04 is the most of any skater. Keith also leads all defensemen in scoring during the 2015 playoffs with 18 points (two assists, 16 assists) in 17 games. He has a plus-13 rating to rank first as well. Keith will enter the Stanley Cup as one of the favorites for the Conn Smythe Trophy.

Cam Talbot could be used as trade bait for the Rangers.

He signed a one-year, $1.45 million deal with New York back in December, but might be used to land the team a first-round pick. The Rangers don't have a first rounder until 2017 because of the acquisitions of Martin St. Louis and Keith Yandle. Talbot was excellent in 2014-15 and could challenge for a starter role on a team looking for a goaltender.

The line of Steve Stamkos, Valtteri Filppula and Alex Killorn had an excellent round in the Eastern Conference Final.

The trio combined to score nine goals and 19 points against the New York Rangers to give them 17 goals and 44 points in the postseason. They have narrowed the gap if you are comparing their production to the other top-six combination on the Lightning, which features Tyler Johnson, Ondrej Palat and Nikita Kucherov. The line known as the Triplets has generated 28 goals and 55 points in the playoffs.

Kelowna Rockets forward and Edmonton Oilers prospect Leon Draisaitl was named the MVP of the Memorial Cup.

Draisaitl posted four goals and three assists in the tournament, but unfortunately for him, his team lost 2-1 in overtime against the Oshawa Generals in the final. It's been an interesting year for Draisaitl, who started the year off with the Oilers only to be sent back to junior in early January. The 19-year-old still has a very bright future ahead of him.

The Oshawa Generals (OHL) were crowned Memorial Cup Champions after their 2-1 overtime win over the Kelowna Rockets (WHL) on Sunday.

The Memorial Cup is awarded to the best team in junior hockey. The Generals got two goals from forward Anthony Cirelli, including the overtime winner, which was scored just 1:28 into the extra frame. The Generals have a pretty talented roster with quite a few of their players being drafted by NHL teams. They have Michael Dal Colle (NYI), Michael McCarron (MTL), Cole Cassels (VAN), Tobias Lindberg (OTT), Hunter Smith (CGY), Matthew Mistele (LAK), Josh Brown (FLA) and Brent Pedersen (CAR).

Kris Letang (concussion) has resumed training.

Letang suffered a concussion in March after he was hit by Arizona forward Shane Doan and he was never able to fully recover. All things considered, the 28-year-old had a very strong season for the Penguins. Letang finished with 11 goals and 54 points in just 69 games.

Jonathan Toews scored twice to lead the Blackhawks to a 5-3 Game 7 win against the Ducks and into the Stanley Cup Final.

Toews scored the first two goals of the game in the first period, his eighth and ninth of the playoffs — and his 18th point in 17 games. Brandon Saad and Brent Seabrook picked up the other goals, with Marian Hossa’s goal at 13:45 the game winner, making the score 4-0 at that point. Patrick Kane had three assists, while Duncan Keith and Brad Richards each notched two apiece. The Blackhawks will be playing in their third Stanley Cup Final in the past six years, this time against the Lightning, beginning Wednesday.

Nathan Horton is doing his best to stay positive as he deals with a degenerative back condition.

As a result, he has been unable to play since April 2014."Yeah, I’m doing all right; I’m living my life," said. "Obviously, my back’s not great but I have my good days and some OK days. I’m just taking it easy. Eventually it’s going to go away -- I hope. I’m just enjoying my life. I’m healthy and I’m happy. It’s obviously tough because I want to play." Horton was acquired by the Leafs from the Blue Jackets on Feb. 26 for David Clarkson.
