Brad Richards (neck) will return on Friday.

Richards missed two games after being hit from behind by Buffalo's Patrick Kaleta on Sunday. He has two goals and 13 points in 20 games this season, but he should pick up the pace in the second half.

Kyle Quincey will be a healthy scratch on Monday.

This is probably a case of the Devils protecting a possible trade chip. If Quincey played on Monday and got hurt, then New Jersey would miss out on the pick(s) or prospect(s) they could potentially get for him. John Moore will draw into the lineup.

The New Jersey Devils have placed Pavel Zacha on the injured reserve list retroactive to February 21 when he suffered a concussion.

Since Zacha was not going to play on Monday, it was a good move putting on the IR as he can now be taken off any time after Tuesday. The forward was drafted sixth overall in 2015 and has 16 points in 52 games. He is worth looking at in keeper leagues and should really be looked at hard next season as he is the future of the Devils.
Feb 27 - 9:54 AM

Radim Vrbata scored with 19 seconds remaining to cap off the comeback in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Sabres.

The Coyotes were down 2-0 heading into the third period, not to mention a key part of their team in Martin Hanzal was missing after he was traded right before the game. Vrbata got Arizona going with an assist early in the third on a goal by Max Domi and then he scored in the final minute to give the Coyotes a hard-earned two points in the standings. Vrbata now has a nine-game scoring streak and 46 points in 61 matches this season.
Feb 26 - 11:20 PM

Roman Josi posted his third straight two-point game during Sunday's 5-4 win to the Oilers.

He extended his point streak to five games in the effort, giving him two goals and eight points over that span. He also has points in nine of his last 10 games, with six goals and 14 points over that span. Suffice it to say, the man's on fire.
Feb 26 - 9:42 PM

Connor McDavid became the first player to reach 70-points this season during Sunday's 5-4 loss to the Predators.

He picked up both a goal and an assist to give him 21 goals and 50 assists, so he's also the first to 71 points through just 63 games. Bonkers for this era of NHL hockey.
Feb 26 - 9:29 PM

Johnny Gaudreau snapped his 10-game goal drought with a pair of markers during Sunday's 3-1 win over the Hurricanes.

Take that, slump! Gaudreau also added an assist in the match. He now has two goals and eight points over his last four games. For the season he has 13 goals and 43 points in 53 games.
Feb 26 - 8:42 PM

Ben Bishop has been traded to the Los Angeles Kings.

He has been shipped to Los Angeles along with a fifth-round pick in the 2017 draft in exchange for goaltender Peter Budaj, prospect defenseman Erik Cernak, a seventh-round selection in 2017 and a conditional pick in 2017. Bishop is eligible to be an unrestricted free agent in July. He will provide the Kings with some insurance if Quick's groin acts up again.

Brad Marchand is still on fire.

He posted a goal and three points during Sunday's 6-3 win over the Stars. He has three goals and seven points over his last five games alone. Marchand is up to 27 goals and 64 points in just 62 games this season.
Feb 26 - 6:03 PM

Jamie Benn did a bit of everything during Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Bruins.

The Captain picked up his 36th helper of the season, giving him 57 points through 58 games. He also fought David Backes, and it was quite the punch-out. Benn now has points in four of his last five games, with three goals and six points in that span.
Feb 26 - 5:48 PM

Darnell Nurse is set to make his long-awaited return to the ice on Sunday against the Predators after missing the last 35 games.

Coach Todd McLellan has noted that he plans to ease the talented defender into the lineup, which means his minutes and matchups will be highly selected for. Be that as it may, you've got to start somewhere and this is as fine a place as any. Through 25 games this season he has three goals and five points along with 17 PIMs, 25 blocks and 60 blocks.
Feb 26 - 4:39 PM

The flu bug appears to have bitten Ben Bishop, as he was absent from Sunday's practice with the team.

It's unclear if the veteran netminder will start Monday's match versus the Senators, but if he doesn't this is why. Consider him day-to-day for the time being.
