Roberto Luongo will get back in Vancouver's crease Tuesday night against Columbus.

He has warmed the bench for eight of the past 12 games and Cory Schneider has started five of the team's last six contests. "Coming into this season, I kind of knew what the situation would be," Luongo said Monday. "The last couple of games I was in there, obviously I had a really bad game in Detroit and I gave up one bad goal against Calgary. You have to look at yourself in the mirror sometimes and expect more out of yourself. That's what I expect tomorrow." He has surrendered 11 goals in his past two outings and the Canucks may not have an easy time with the suddenly hot Blue Jackets, who will enter the contest riding a five-game win streak.

Frederik Andersen stopped all 17 shots fired his way in a 4-0 shutout win over Vancouver on Tuesday.

The Canucks were only able to muster up seven shots in the final 40 minutes of this game so he didn't have to be spectacular. Still, the Ducks' number one has won seven straight starts in what is turning out to be a fantastic campaign. Andersen is second in the NHL in wins with 27 and holds solid secondary numbers with a 2.24 GAA and .919 save percentage. The shutout was his third of the year.

Johnny Gaudreau scored twice to help Calgary get past Buffalo 4-1 on Tuesday.

"Johnny Hockey" picked up right where he left off before the All-Star break, piling up points. He now has four points in his last three games and 37 total in 47 games played. The All-Star is as good as advertised. Josh Jooris picked up his fourth game winning goal of the year which leads all Flames players this season. Joe Colborne added the other goal for Calgary. Jiri Hudler also picked up two assists.

Steve Mason earned a victory Tuesday despite starting the game on the bench as the Flyers upended Arizona in a shootout by a score of 4-3.

Mason declared himself fit to return from a knee injury on this night, but Ray Emery received the starting nod and lasted fewer than six minutes before he was removed from the game after allowing two quick goals. Mason stopped 22 of the 23 shots he faced in relief and improved his record to 9-12-6 in the process. His GAA is now 2.41 while his save percentage stands at .921.

The St. Louis Blues have traded Maxim Lapierre to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Marcel Goc.

It was trade for fourth line centers as each bring different elements from the position. Lapierre has two goals and seven assists for nine points in 45 games and is not a fantasy relevant player.

The St. Louis Blues acquired Marcel Goc from the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for Maxim Lapierre.

Goc has just two goals and four assists for six points in 43 games played this season. He does bring speed on the fourth line for the Blues. He spent parts of three seasons in Pittsburgh.
Jan 27 - 10:45 PM

Returning from a one-game absence due to a head injury, Kris Letang showed no signs of rust by registering five helpers in a 5-3 win over Winnipeg on Tuesday.

Letang's fantasy owners have seemingly dodged a bullet since the blueliner missed just one game after he was hit by Zac Rinaldo last week and it looks like he'll pick up where he left off. Ride his hot hand for as long as you can.
Jan 27 - 9:41 PM

Patric Hornqvist netted a pair of goals on Tuesday in a 5-3 defeat of the Jets.

Hornqvist missed about a month due to a lower body ailment, but he made his presence felt by counting twice in his first game back to give him 15 goals on the season in just 34 contests. Steve Downie, Nick Spaling and David Perron also found the back of the net for Pittsburgh in the victory.
Jan 27 - 9:34 PM

Anton Khudobin will play between the pipes on Tuesday.

Khudobin was solid going into the break, allowing two or fewer goals in each of his last six starts. He has a 2.32 GAA and .916 save percentage in 16 contests in 2014-15.
Jan 27 - 5:05 PM

Jiri Hudler is battling an illness on Tuesday.

Hudler is being regarded as a game-time decision as a result. If he can't play then Joe Colborne will likely take his spot on the top line. Hudler has 14 goals and 39 points in 45 contests in 2014-15.
Jan 27 - 1:32 PM

Martin Brodeur will announce the end of his playing career, but he'll reportedly stick with the Blues as an assistant general manager.

Brodeur will stick with the franchise in a front office capacity. He'll finish with a 2.24 GAA, .912 save percentage, and an NHL-high 691 wins in 1,266 games. He won the Stanley Cup three times and claimed the Vezina Trophy on four occasions. He's as safe a bet to be inducted into the Hall of Fame as you get and he'll be routinely brought up during arguments when discussing the greatest goaltenders of all-time. The vast majority of his playing career was with the New Jersey Devils, but after it became apparent that they had moved on to goaltender Cory Schneider, Brodeur attempted to extend his career elsewhere and eventually signed with St. Louis. Although his time playing with the Blues was brief, they have to be happy that they'll get his wealth of experience as an assistant general manager.
Jan 27 - 1:28 PM

Thomas Greiss was the first goaltender to leave the ice for the Penguins Tuesday morning.

That's usually a good way of telling who the starter will be, so it looks like Greiss will get the nod. Marc-Andre Fleury played in the All-Star Game, so the Penguins presumably want to give their top goaltender a breather.
