Henrique gets two goals, assist in 5-2 win

Adam Henrique potted two goals and added an assist as the Devils dominated the Flyers for a 5-2 win Wednesday night.

Henrique might have brought some unrealistic expectations upon himself with such a great, 51-point rookie season, but he's still been plenty good in his second year, with nine goals and 13 points in 22 games. Patrik Elias and Andrei Loktionov each had a goal and an assist, while Ilya Kovalchuk notched the other marker.

Patrice Bergeron's 2G not enough in OT loss

Patrice Bergeron notched two goals for the Bruins, but they fell 6-5 in overtime in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final versus the Blackhawks on Wednesday night.

With all things even right now and each team's goalie enduring an "off" night, the talented two-way center has emerged as a legitimate Conn Smythe contender. Bergeron now has four goals in the Final, and he's recorded nine goals and 15 points in 20 playoff games thus far. Boston never held a lead in this game, going down by two goals twice. Rich Peverley, Milan Lucic and Johnny Boychuk were the other goal scorers for the Bruins. Veterans Zdeno Chara and Jaromir Jagr each picked up two helpers apiece. Lucic had a game-high eight hits.

Seabrook's OT goal pulls Hawks even in Final

Brent Seabrook scored the overtime game-winning goal for the Blackhawks in their 6-5 victory Wednesday night against the Bruins.

The Blackhawks prevail in the wildest game of the Stanley Cup Final yet, pulling them even in the series, 2-2. Three of the four tilts have gone overtime, but this one was a totally different beast as offense led the way. These two teams combined for 12 goals in the entire series prior to this game. Chicago got on the board first with Michal Handzus' shorthanded marker, and it then took two two-goal advantages: 3-1 (with goals from Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane) and 4-2 (with a goal from Marcus Kruger). Patrick Sharp netted a goal in the third period to give the Hawks a 5-4 lead as well. Kane also notched an assist. Michal Rozsival picked up two assists and was a game-high plus-three, while Sharp led the way with eight shots on goal. Niklas Hjalmarsson finished a game-low minus-three. We are lucky to be witnessing a tremendous Stanley Cup Final.

Lightning will 'consider' using buyouts

Lightning general manager Steve Yzerman said the Lightning will "consider" using their buyout options this offseason.

"It’s something to consider. … Given that we finished in 28th place, we should be looking at every possibility of improving our team and what are options are," Yzerman said. "Other than that, I can’t say much." Vincent Lecavalier could be bought out as he is 33 with seven years left on a deal with a cap hit of close to $8 million.

Bickell will play with Toews and Kane in Gm 4

Bryan Bickell is projected to start Game 4 on a line with Jonathan Toews and Patrick Kane.

The trio helped get Chicago's offense going in Games 4 and 5 against the Los Angeles Kings and coach Joel Quenneville is hoping they can get something going again versus the stingy Boston Bruins. "Yeah, it worked good late in the L.A. series," Bickell said. "We had a couple goals, with Kaner's hat trick to finish up the series. Hopefully it sparks each other and the team." Bickell, Kane and Toews haven't scored a goal yet in the Stanley Cup Finals.

Lundqvist denies having say in coach's firing

Henrik Lundqvist vehemently denied that he had a hand in the firing of Rangers coach John Tortorella.

"I know there is some speculation regarding Torts being fired, but let's be clear on one thing," Lundqvist said via an e-mail on Wednesday. "It's not my call who the coach should be for the New York Rangers. I would never put pressure on the management on decisions like that. I'm just a player. My focus is to play the game and do the best I can on the ice. Whatever [happens] off the ice, I leave to our great staff we have working for this club." He also stated that he had a "great relationship" with Tortorella and he feels bad that he was let go by the organization.

Report: NYR to announce Vigneault hiring Fri.

TSN's Darren Dreger is hearing that Alain Vigneault will officially be named the next head coach of the New York Rangers on Friday.

His hiring was first reported Saturday and he's believed to have agreed to a five-year, $10 million deal after being dismissed by the Vancouver Canucks.

Marian Hossa is expected to play in Game 4

Marian Hossa is expected to play Wednesday night in Game 4 despite missing the Blackhawks' morning skate.

Coach Joel Quenneville said "He's fine." Jamal Mayars practiced on the second line during the session, but he also expects Hossa to play. Hossa has seven goals and 15 points in 19 playoff games, so he'll be a welcome addition to the lineup as Chicago searches for more offense against Boston.

Ilya Bryzgalov situation still up in the air

According to CSNPhilly.com's Tim Panaccio the Philadelphia Flyers have not offered any assurances to goaltender Ilya Bryzgalov.

There was a report that Bryzgalov's agent, Ritch Winter, had been told by the Flyers that the Russian goalie would not be bought out by the team, but that appears to be false. GM Paul Holmgren told CSN: "I didn't assure Ritch Winter of anything. When the time comes to do our business we will do whatever is best for our hockey team." Philadelphia is currently in the hunt for another goaltender and if they manage to bring in someone else then Bryzgalov will probably be bought out. However, it's also possible that he will share the crease with Steve Mason in 2013-14.

Penguins could end up moving Kris Letang

According to Rob Rossi of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, it looks like the Penguins are willing to deal Kris Letang if his contract demands don't soften.

If he agrees to taking an annual salary of around $6 million with a limited-movement clause then it's reasonable to believe that he will stay in Pittsburgh. However, it is being speculated that Letang is seeking around $7 million per season and a no-movement clause, which could land him elsewhere. It didn't take Penguins GM Ray Shero long to deal Jordan Staal after he rejected the club's 10-year contract and Letang might receive similar treatment. Pittsburgh also has a handful of blueline prospects who aren't far away from being NHLers, so that could soften the blow of losing Letang. Trade talks for Letang could heat up at the general managers' meeting on Wednesday.

Report: Avs likely to pass on Seth Jones

Joe Sakic told the Denver Post late Tuesday night that if the Avs keep the first overall selection in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, they will select a forward, and not their presumptive top target Seth Jones.

"If we do pick first, we're leaning more toward one of those three forwards," Sakic said. ""We feel those three forwards are just too good to pass up." This comes as a huge shock, as most had pegged Jones to the Avs with the top selection for a number of reasons, including his prior relationship with Sakic and the Avs organization. Whether Sakic is setting up a smokescreen is unclear, but if the Avs do decide to pass on Jones, they will select either Nathan MacKinnon, Jonathan Drouin, or Alexander Barkov, with MacKinnon the likely pick despite already holding a surplus of talent at the center position.

Report: Flyers, Kings talking Bernier trade

The Philadelphia Flyers and Los Angeles Kings have discussed a Jonathan Bernier trade, a league source confirmed to the Philadelphia Inquirer's Sam Carchidi.

The Kings drafted Bernier in the first round in 2006 with the intention of making him their franchise goalie, but the development of Jonathan Quick has made Bernier, a pending RFA, expendable. The Flyers have been linked to Bernier before and are currently in the midst of another goalie crisis. As of now, the team plans to have Ilya Bryzgalov and Steve Mason battle for the job, but Bryzgalov appears destined for a buyout. In that scenario, acquiring Bernier and having him battle Mason would make a lot of sense. The Kings have reportedly mentioned young forwards Sean Couturier and Matt Read in talks with the Flyers, which could be a hefty price for Philly to pay.
