Tuomo Ruutu (hip) will make his season debut Thursday night against New Jersey.

He underwent hip surgery back in December and will start out on the fourth line. "He's excited. The players are excited for him," said coach Kirk Muller. "We'll be a better team with him in the lineup. And the way this year has been, heaving one more healthy body is huge." Once Ruutu gets back up to game speed, he should add physicality and some scoring to Carolina's forward group.

With his trio of points during Friday's 4-1 win over Calgary, Oliver Ekman-Larsson is now up to 41 points on year.

It's his third straight season of at least 41 points, and will easily surpass his high of 44 any game now. Ekman-Larrson is also shooting at nearly 10%, putting his career high of 23 goals well within striking distance with eight goals to pass 29 games to work with.

Shane Doan captured a pair of franchise scoring records during Friday's 4-1 win over the Flames.

Doan picked up his 123rd career power play goal while bringing his career points total up to 931, passing Dale Hawerchuk in both categories for first place on both lists. It was simply a sensational night for the Captain, who now stands at 21 goals and 33 points on the year.

Jaden Schwartz had a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-3 win over the Florida Panthers.

A two-point night may not be a remarkable feet, but it's impressive when you consider this was Schwartz's first game back from an ankle injury that cost him 49 games. The 23-year-old hadn't recorded a point since Oct. 16 because of the injury. He has one goal and six points in eight games in 2015-16.
Feb 12 - 11:12 PM

Steven Stamkos scored a goal and an assist in Friday's 4-3 overtime win over the Nashville Predators.

Stamkos tied the game at three with under 30 seconds remaining in the third period, and he picked up an assist on Tyler Johnson's overtime winner. The goal put an end to Stamkos' four-game goalless drought. The 26-year-old has 22 goals and 42 points in 54 games this season. He's on pace to score 33 goals in 2015-16.
Feb 12 - 11:03 PM

Marcus Foligno scored two goals and an assist in Friday's 6-4 win over the Montreal Canadiens.

Foligno picked up an assist on Evander Kane's first period goal and he added two of his own over 15 minutes apart in the second period. Foligno's second goal ended up being the game-winner. This was Foligno's first multi-point game of the season. The 24-year-old has six goals and 14 points in 49 games this season.

Marian Gaborik has left Friday's match with the Rangers due to a knee injury.

The Kings are officially calling it a lower body injury, but he was clearly seen favoring his left knee after a failed check on Dominic Moore. Gaborik did however pick up his first power play goal of the season, his 12th goal overall, during his 3:31 of work before departing.

Jaden Schwartz will make his long awaited return to the Blues' lineup Friday night against the Panthers.

Schwartz has missed the last 49 games because of an ankle injury he sustained in practice in late October. He's expected to skate to the left of Jori Lehtera and Vladimir Tarasenko on the team's second line, but Schwartz won't play on special teams just yet.
Feb 12 - 7:11 PM

Patrice Bergeron didn't participate in Friday's practice.

Bruins coach Claude Julien described it as a maintenance day for Bergeron, but also said he can't guarantee that the forward will participate in Saturday's game. Bergeron was also limited to four shifts in the third period of Thursday's contest, so that could be related. He has 21 goals and 47 points in 54 games this season. Landon Ferraro occupied Bergeron's spot on a line with Brett Connolly and Brad Marchand during Friday's skate.

Connor Hellebuyck has been sent to the minors.

The Jets needed to make a roster spot available in order to activate Ondrej Pavelec. We'll see if Hellebuyck rejoins the team in short order or if this is just a temporary measure. Hellebuyck certainly impressed during Pavelec's absence as he posted a 2.34 GAA and .918 save percentage in 26 contests. At the same time, Hellebuyck hasn't been quite as good lately and if the Jets intend to play Pavelec frequently for the remainder of the season, then Hellebuyck might be better served in the AHL where he can play consistently and continue to hone his game.
Feb 12 - 2:49 PM

Ondrej Pavelec (knee) has been taken off of the injured reserve list.

The Jets also reassigned Connor Hellebuyck, who had been running away with the starting job during Pavelec's absence. Pavelec hasn't played since Nov. 21, but when he was healthy he was leaving plenty to be desired with his 2.82 GAA and .906 save percentage in 15 games. We'll see if he steps up now in the final months of the campaign.
