Craig Anderson (ankle) was back at practice Monday morning.

"It's good to have him out there, but it was his first day," coach Paul MacLean said. "We'll take it as a positive and go from there. We want him back as soon as we get him. He's going to have to practice a little bit before he gets into a game." He had not taken part in a full workout since suffering a sprained ankle on Feb. 21 and the Senators aren't in any rush to get him back in the crease because of how well Robin Lehner and Ben Bishop have played during his absence.

Jacob Markstrom is projected to start on Tuesday.

Markstrom hasn't started for Vancouver yet in 2014-15. However, he's been superb in the minors with a 17-7-2 record, 1.95 GAA, and .932 save percentage.
Mar 3 - 2:23 PM

Karri Ramo will be the Flames' starting goaltender on Tuesday.

Ramo only allowed one goal in each of his last three starts. He has a 2.43 GAA and .915 save percentage in 23 contests in 2014-15.
Mar 3 - 12:44 PM

Anders Lindback will play between the pipes on Tuesday.

It will be Lindback's first start with Buffalo since he was acquired on Feb. 11. With Michal Neuvirth dealt on Monday, Lindback has a real shot of becoming Buffalo's starter for the rest of the season.
Mar 3 - 12:07 PM

Jordan Leopold was traded to Minnesota on Monday and it probably delighted his daughter and the other members of his family.

Jordyn Leopold wrote a letter that was addressed to the "Minnesota Wild coaches," and she pleaded with the team to trade for her father so that he could be with his family in Minnesota. The team apparently never got the letter, but it was all over the internet on deadline day and was the topic of talk radio and sports shows. Jordan's wife, Jamie, posted it on Facebook back in January and she sent it to KFAN's Paul Allen. Leopold will likely suit up for the Wild on Tuesday after he was acquired from Columbus.
Mar 3 - 11:46 AM

Damon Severson (ankle) will be back in the Devils' lineup on Tuesday.

Severson hasn't played since Dec. 15 and he might be eased back into the lineup. To that end, the Devils are expected to dress seven blueliners. Forwards Michael Ryder and Martin Havlat will spend the game in the press box.
Mar 3 - 11:29 AM

San Jose goalie Alex Stalock, who had been on a three-game losing streak, stopped 20 shots Monday night to record a 4-0 shutout over the visiting Montreal Canadiens.

The Sharks' backup netminder allowed 13 goals in his previous three starting appearances but improved his record Monday to 6-7-1. He also improved his goals-against average to 2.61 and his save percentage to .904. So is Stalock worthy of being added now to your fantasy team? Well, no. But don't disregard what he accomplished Monday. A shutout against a very good Montreal team and all-star goalie Carey Price certainly deserves at least a little respect. The shutout was Stalock's second of the season and fourth of his career.
Mar 3 - 12:55 AM

Shortly after being acquired by the Sharks, Ben Smith contributed a goal and an assist in a 4-0 shutout of the visiting Montreal Canadiens in San Jose Monday night.

Smith was obtained on trade-deadline Monday by the Sharks from the Chicago Blackhawks for Andrew Desjardins. Then he went out and scored San Jose's first goal of the night at 6:51 of the first period and assisted on Matt Irwin's goal at 6:28 of the second period. Don't let Smith's San Jose debut fool you. As Rotoworld's Michael Finewax wrote on his trade deadline blog shortly after the Smith-Desjardins deal: "Smith will help out the Sharks' bottom-six forwards and is a good penalty killer who can score the occasional goal. Will help out but not much of a fantasy asset." Smith now has six goals and five assists on the season. Joe Pavelski also had a goal (32nd) and an assist (27th) for the Sharks. Patrick Marleau picked up his 15th goal of the season.
Mar 3 - 12:48 AM

Star center Jonathan Toews notched three points in the Blackhawks' 5-2 victory over the visiting Carolina Hurricanes Monday night.

The Chicago captain scored his team's first two goals -- his second on a shorthanded shift 44 seconds into the second period -- to give him 21 on the season. He also produced his 32nd assist of the campaign on Marian Hossa's 18th goal. Brandon Saad (20th) and Marcus Kruger (sixth) also picked up goals for the winners.
Mar 2 - 11:23 PM

Mark Giordano will undergo surgery for a torn biceps tendon and he's out for the remainder of the season.

Flames GM Brad Treliving said that Giordano will require four-to-five months of recovery time. The Calgary captain is tied for second in the league in scoring among defensemen with 48 points in 61 games. The Flames will have to continue their hunt for a playoff spot without a key contributor.
Mar 2 - 4:59 PM

Andre Burakovsky has been reassigned to the minors.

He is the odd-man out after the Capitals acquired Curtis Glencross from Calgary. Burakovsky, who has nine goals and 21 points in 48 games this season, will get plenty of playing time with Hershey. It's unclear how long he'll be down in the AHL.
Mar 2 - 3:54 PM

James Wisniewski has been dealt to the Anaheim Ducks.

He was sent to Anaheim along with Detroit's third-round pick for Rene Bourque, William Karlsson and a second-round pick in 2015. Wisniewski has generated eight goals and 29 points in 56 games for the Jackets this year.
