Steven Stamkos scored twice and assisted once to lead the Lightning to a 5-4 shootout win over the Devils on Friday night.

Like he is on most nights, Stamkos was all over the place Friday, also recording a game-high seven shots on goal, two penalty minutes and two hits. His goal-scoring pace is ridiculous right now, with 25 in 34 games, and he also has 46 points. Alex Killorn and Nate Thompson had the other markers.

Scott Darling will back in goal for Chicago on Tuesday for Game 4 versus Nashville.

The decision shouldn't come as much of a surprise after he backstopped the Blackhawks to both of their wins in their first-round series against the Predators. Darling has a .975 save percentage and a 0.94 goals-against average in the postseason.
Apr 20 - 3:38 PM

Alex Burrows won't be suspended for Game 4.

The NHL Department of Player Safety has ruled that the incident was "not related to the score, previous incidents in the game or prior games, retaliatory in nature, or "message sending." Burrows picked up an instigator penalty at the 18:35 mark of the third period and he amassed 21 penalty minutes in Game 3 on Sunday night. He has two assists in three playoff contests.

Eric Fehr (shoulder) is expected to miss at least the next two games, according to coach Barry Trotz.

He sustained what is believed to be a shoulder injury after a hard hit from Islanders' forward Kyle Okposo in Game 3 on Sunday. Fehr doesn't have a point in three games for the Capitals thus far in the series.

The San Jose Sharks and head coach Todd McLellan have agreed to mutually part ways.

The Sharks also announced that assistant coaches Jim Johnson and Jay Woodcroft, as well as video coordinator Brett Heimlich were relieved of their duties with the team. "I want to thank Todd and his staff for their years of service to the San Jose Sharks organization," said GM Doug Wilson. "Sometimes a change is best for all parties involved but nothing will take away from what Todd and his staff accomplished here over the last seven seasons." McLellan had a 311-163-66 record behind the bench for San Jose and it won't be long before he finds another job.

The Canucks ended up tying the game on a goal by Shawn Matthias, but Brodie answered with a goal of his own at the 15:02 mark of the first frame. The points were the first two of the post-season for Brodie. Sam Bennett and Sean Monahan also scored the Flames, who now lead the series two games to one.

Dale Weise scored two goals in Montreal's 2-1 overtime win over Ottawa.

Weise tied the game at the 14:13 mark of the third period, and he scored the overtime winner. Craig Anderson will probably want to have the overtime goal back. After a strong post-season performance last year, Weise was very quiet in the first two-plus games of the 2015 playoffs. The Canadiens were quiet offensively all night until coach Michel Therrien moved Weise to the fourth line with Brandon Prust and Torrey Mitchell. Montreal now leads the series 3-0. Ottawa is on the brink of elimination.

Brandon Saad restored the Hawks lead later on in the second frame, while Toews helped set up Brent Seabrook's insurance marker. Chicago's captain now has two goals and five points in the first three games of the playoffs.
Apr 19 - 6:11 PM

John Tavares scored the overtime winner in the Islanders' 2-1 game three win over Washington.

Tavares scored just 15 seconds into overtime to give the Islanders the win, and a 2-1 lead in the series. Kyle Okposo's goal at the 12:37 mark opening the scoring, and that lead held until Nicklas Backstrom tied the game in the third period. Game four in Long Island will take place on Tuesday night.
