Tomas Vokoun turned aside all 35 Islanders shots in his second consecutive shutout.

Amazingly, the Penguins have now gone three straight games without allowing a goal. They've also won 15 consecutive contests despite enduring injuries to a number of key players over that span. Given how hot Vokoun is, it wouldn't be surprising to see him play again on Tuesday, although it won't be long before Marc-Andre Fleury resumes his starting duties.

Peter Budaj will get the start against the New Jersey Devils Tuesday night.

The veteran backup will make his first start of the season for Tampa, as the Bolts play the second game of a back-to-back. Budaj was 3-1-0 in six games for the Bolts after being traded from Los Angeles last season. Considering how his battery mate, Andrei Vasilevskiy, has fared to this point, Budaj will get his starts every now and then to give him some rest.
Oct 17 - 6:25 PM

Loui Eriksson (knee sprain) is expected to miss four-to-six weeks of action.

Eriksson was injured in the first period of Saturday's game and he did not return to the lineup. The 32-year-old has no goals and one assist in four games this season. He should be back sometime in late November. He can be dropped in all leagues.
Oct 17 - 6:00 PM

Owen Tippett will make his NHL debut in Tuesday's game against the Flyers.

Tippett was the 10th overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. He was terrific during the preseason and that's why he's still around. The 18-year-old had 44 goals and 75 points in 60 games with OHL Mississauga last season. There's a good chance they'll send him back to junior at some point this season unless he starts lightning it up.
Oct 17 - 4:40 PM

Kyle Okposo (illness) will play in Tuesday's game against the Golden Knights.

Okposo has missed the last two games because of the illness. The winger is off to a rough start this season, as he has no goals, no points and a minus-6 rating in four games this season. "Basically sitting in a hotel room for 2 1/2 straight days is not good stuff," Okposo said. "It's good to feel like a human being again being out and about and resuming normal activities."
Oct 17 - 3:47 PM

Chad Johnson will get the start in Tuesday's game against Vegas.

This will be Johnson's second consecutive start. He stopped 25 of 26 shots in last weekend's win over Anaheim, so head coach Phil Housley is going back to him tonight. Johnson has a 3.67 goals-against-average and a .875 save percentage this season.
Oct 17 - 3:33 PM

Patrice Bergeron might be able to suit up against Vancouver on Thursday night.

Bergeron has been out with a lower-body injury, but he's been able to hit the ice over the last few days. We'll find out more about his status in the next two days. David Backes (illness) could also return to the lineup on Thursday.
Oct 17 - 2:07 PM

David Backes took part in Bruins practice on Tuesday.

Backes has been dealing with diverticulitis this season. He was wearing a black practice jersey, so there were no restrictions on him. Bruins head coach Bruce Cassidy said Backes might be able to play on Thursday night.
Oct 17 - 2:04 PM

Adin Hill will get the start in Tuesday's game against the Dallas Stars.

The 21-year-old was a third-round draft pick 2015. He made 40 starts in the AHL last season and he's at two starts this season. Hill has a 0.65 goals-against-average and a .968 save percentage in the minors this season.
Oct 17 - 1:43 PM

Laurent Brossoit will be between the pipes for Tuesday's game against the Hurricanes.

Brossoit hasn't started a game for the Oilers yet, but he's made two relief appearances. For what it's worth, Brossoit had a 30-save shutout against Carolina during the preseason. He owns a 2.11 goals-against-average and a .926 save percentage this season.
Oct 17 - 12:47 PM

Joonas Korpisalo will get the start in Tuesday's game against the Winnipeg Jets.

This will be Korpisalo's second appearance of the season, as he dropped a decision to Chicago back on Oct. 7. He doesn't own any fantasy value right now. He'll continue to be nothing more than Sergei Bobrovsky's backup goalie.
Oct 17 - 12:44 PM

Curtis McElhinney is expected to get the start in Wednesday's game against the Detroit Red Wings.

This would be his first appearance of the 2017-18 season. McElhinney had a 6-7-0 record with a 2.85 goals-against-average and a .914 save percentage last season. He's nothing more than a backup goalie, so he won't have any fantasy value going forward.
