Joffrey Lupul will not play Saturday night against the Devils but the Maple Leafs are still not disclosing whether Lupul sustained a concussion.

As soon as we have some official word on Lupul's injury we will pass it along. Of course, he's not playing regardless of the nature of the injury, so reserve hiim if you have not already done so. Lupul is also likely to miss back-to-back early games next week against the Rangers.

If the Chicago Blackhawks win in Game 7 against the Anaheim Ducks, Brad Richards will join an exclusive club.

That would give him eight career wins in Game 7's, which would make him just the third person to hit that mark in NHL history. The other two are Ray Bourque and Glenn Anderson, so that's a pretty good group to be in.

Tampa Bay Lightning winger Brenden Morrow could join the "Triple Gold Club" if he wins a Stanley Cup.

His nice NHL career included an Olympic gold medal back in 2010. At the moment, he has 575 points in 991 career regular season games and 46 points in 112 career playoff contests. Morrow isn't a significant contributor any longer, but he's had a good run that could include a rare accomplishment.

Rangers head coach Alain Vigneault admitted that Ryan McDonagh had been playing with a broken foot for a few games.

McDonagh played a surprisingly low 17:33 seconds in Friday's Game 7 loss to Tampa Bay. The Rangers' captain left the game briefly but returned to the bench a little later on. The 25-year-old finished the postseason with three goals and nine points in 19 games.

Ben Bishop turned aside all 22 shots he faced in Friday's 2-0 win against the Rangers in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final.

Bishop allowed five goals on 26 shots in a Game 6 loss to New York, but he bounced back in a big way in a do-or-die game. He hasn't always looked good in the playoffs, but he has been dominant in two Game Sevens (against Detroit and now New York). The 28-year-old now has 12-8 record this postseason with a 2.15 goals-against-average and a .920 save percentage. The Lightning will now face the winner of the Western Conference Final between the Anaheim Ducks and Chicago Blackhawks in the Stanley Cup Final.

Alex Killorn scored the game-winning goal in Friday's 2-0 win in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference Final over the New York Rangers.

This Game 7 was very tight, as the teams were deadlocked in a 0-0 tie after 40 minutes of play. Killorn scored at the 1:54 mark of the third period to give the Lightning the lead and they never looked back. Tampa Bay is now heading to the Stanley Cup final. They will take on the winner of the Western Conference Final between Anaheim and Chicago. Killorn, 25, has been impressive through three playoff rounds in 2015. He has seven goals and 16 points in 20 postseason games this year. Ondrej Palat scored the insurance goal later on in the third frame for the Lightning.

Hockey Hall of Famer Guy Lafleur would choose Brendan Gallagher to be the next captain of the Montreal Canadiens.

"I like the way he plays," Lafleur said Wednesday. "He shows up every night and gives 100 percent. I think he's a great influence on his teammates. A captain shouldn't be chosen on the amount of goals he's going to score. That guy (Gallagher) really impressed me every night I saw him play. He's aggressive, he wants to win. He gets some bad shots from opponents, he takes a lot of hits and there's not too many guys on the team that work like he does." Lefleur serves as an ambassador for the Canadiens and he's never been shy about expressing his opinion of the team.

Nicklas Backstrom had arthroscopic hip surgery on Wednesday afternoon.

"Based on the nature of this procedure we are confident that Nick will be completely healthy prior to the start of the 2015-16 regular season," said a statement by the Washington Capitals. He suited up in all 82 games during the regular season for the fifth time in his career and he has played six years without missing a game. Backstrom didn't reveal an injury after the Capitals were eliminated from the playoffs and an exact timetable for his recovery could be announced after he begins rehabilitating his hip several weeks from now.
