The Detroit Red Wings have returned Riley Sheahan to the minors.

Sheahan was recalled when it was thought that Henrik Zetterberg would not be able to play on the weekend due to his groin trouble. Zetterberg did play but coach Mike Babcock still put Sheahan in the lineup where he saw fourth line minutes alongside Cory Emmerton and Patrick Eaves. "He was good, and he's going to be a good player for us," coach Mike Babcock said. "But he's got to get quicker and play with more patience." He will continue to play for Grand Rapids where he had 16 goals and 35 points in 67 games before his recall.

Anton Khudobin stopped 36 of 37 shots in a 3-1 win over the San Jose Sharks.

With Khudobin's excellent play combined with Rask's struggles, questions are beginning to circulate in Boston on who should start Wednesday's game against the New Jersey Devils. Khudobin has earned it based on merit. The 31-year-old netminder has won back-to-back starts while just allowing one goal in each contest. His record sits at 5-0-2 with a 2.17 goals against average and .935 save percentage.

Paul Stastny picked up three assists in a 4-3 overtime win over the Vancouver Canucks.

Not only did Stastny pick up three assists, but they were all primary ones as well. The 31-year-old forward has been red hot lately, picking up six points over his last three games. He's centering Sobotka and Steen and could well be worth picking up off the waiver wire if you're looking for help at the center position. Stastny's stat line currently sits at 18 points in 21 games this season.

Craig Smith picked up a goal and an assist in a 5-2 win over the Colorado Avalanche.

Varlamov left a juicy rebound off a P.K. Subban blast from the point and Craig Smith was in the perfect spot to bury his seventh goal of the season. After a slow start to the season, Smith has now picked up eight points in his last 10 games. The 28-year-old forward has a total of 10 points in 19 games and is definitely worth picking up off the waiver wire considering he is on the first power play unit and is currently playing on a line with Kyle Turris and Kevin Fiala.

Evgeny Kuznetsov picked up a goal and an assist in a 3-1 win over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday.

Ovechkin's pass took a couple of deflections before finding its way right to Kuznetsov who buried his fifth goal of the season. With Nicklas Backstrom struggling to pick up points, Kuznetsov has really elevated his offensive game. The 25-year-old Russian now has 23 points in 21 games this season. He'll most likely finish the season eclipsing his career high of 77 points established during the 2015-16 season.

Anthony Duclair's hat trick led the Arizona Coyotes to a 3-2 overtime victory against the Ottawa Senators on Saturday.

Duclair had a rough sophomore campaign in 2016-17 and while this season has been better in some ways, it's been far from ideal. In fact, he was a healthy scratch on Tuesday and that was far from the first time he had been relegated to the press box. Perhaps a game like this one could be something of a turning point for him. Oliver Ekman-Larsson assisted on two of Duclair's goals. Alex Goligoski, Jason Demers, and Derek Stepan each registered an assist.
