Despite the fact Erik Karlsson has made a quick and impressive recovery from sliced Achilles tendon, he will not play Saturday night against Toronto.

That said, there is a very good chance he will suit up in one of the Senators' games next weekend against either the Flyers on Saturday or the Bruins on Sunday.

Dougie Hamilton the game-winning goal in Boston's 2-1 overtime win over the Winnipeg Jets.

Hamilton beat Jets' goaltender Michael Hutchinson with a wrist shot from the slot in overtime. He also picked up an assist on Milan Lucic's third period goal. The 21-year-old has five goals and nine assists in 24 games this season.
Nov 28 - 11:03 PM

Henrik Zetterberg registered two assists in Detroit's 5-4 shootout win over New Jersey.

The Red Wings found themselves down 4-1 in the second period, but they were able to storm back and tie things up in the third. Riley Sheahan, Xavier Ouellet, Justin Abdelkader and Drew Miller scored for the Wings. Zetterberg now has five goals and 21 points in 23 games this season. Gustav Nyquist scored the shootout winner for Detroit.
Nov 28 - 10:49 PM

Tuukka Rask made 35 saves on 36 shots in Boston's 2-1 overtime win over Winnipeg.

Rask gave up a goal to Dustin Byfuglien in the first period but he was perfect the rest of the way. Rask struggled earlier this season but he is 7-2-1 in his last 10 starts. Overall, Rask is 11-6-1 to go along with a 2.31 goals-against-average and a .919 save percentage.
Nov 28 - 10:24 PM

Sidney Crosby registered two assists in Pittsburgh's 4-2 loss to Carolina on Friday night.

Crosby picked up the primary assists on both Pittsburgh's goals in the game. The 27-year-old has seven points in his last three games, and he's scored nine goals and 33 points in 22 games. Crosby was the only Penguin to have a multi-point game tonight. Kris Letang and Patric Hornqvist scored for Pittsburgh.

Francois Beauchemin has a broken finger and will miss the next four-to-six weeks.

Beauchemin has been placed on the injured reserve list as a result. He sustained the injury while blocking a shot during Tuesday's game. The Ducks acquired Eric Brewer to help fill the void during Beauchemin's absence.
Nov 28 - 6:19 PM

Marek Zidlicky has a sore foot that might keep him out of Friday's game.

The plan is for Zidlicky to test his foot in the pregame warmups before a decision is made. He has 11 points and 18 penalty minutes in 22 games in 2014-15.
Nov 28 - 5:26 PM

Johnny Boychuk has sustained an upper-body injury.

Boychuk won't play on Friday and should be considered day-to-day beyond that. He's been an important part of the Islanders' success this season with two goals, 12 assists, and a plus-seven rating in 21 games. He's been averaging 22:09 minutes per contest.
Nov 28 - 4:18 PM

Cameron Talbot turned aside all 26 Flyers shots in a 3-0 victory on Friday.

It was Talbot's second consecutive shutout. Thanks to the relatively small sample size, that's brought his GAA down to 2.21 GAA and save percentage up to .924 this season. As good as those numbers look and as hot as he is, we don't see him as a serious threat to overthrow Henrik Lundqvist for any significant stretch of time. It will be interesting though to see if Rangers coach Alain Vigneault will stick with his original plan of starting Lundqvist on Saturday.
Nov 28 - 3:50 PM

Martin St. Louis had a goal and an assist in the Rangers' 3-0 victory against Philadelphia on Friday.

With that, St. Louis has reached the 1,000-point milestone. He's the 81st person to ever reach that mark and is one of just five active players on that list. Dan Boyle and Rick Nash scored the Rangers' other two goals. Derek Stepan collected three assists in the victory.
Nov 28 - 3:44 PM

Calvin Pickard will start again on Saturday.

Pickard turned aside 42 of 45 shots in a 3-2 loss Wednesday night. There's a good chance that Pickard will be kept on the roster after Semyon Varlamov (groin) returns, which is bad news for Reto Berra.

Francois Beauchemin (upper body) is doubtful Friday.

Beauchemin's hand is likely the problem as he appeared to be struck by the puck in that area during Tuesday's game. He left that contest before its conclusion.
