Jarred Tinordi will join the Montreal Canadiens and he'll enter the lineup Thursday night against Winnipeg.

There's only two games left, but this is significant news after his name was added to the team's roster earlier this week to play on the Habs' Black Aces squad. Tinordi only has six NHL games under his belt, but it's clear the Canadiens want to look at him before the playoffs start. That will come against the Jets on Thursday and Saturday at the Leafs. The team's 22nd-overall pick from the 2010 draft has a very real chance to carve out a postseason role if he impresses. No word yet on who will be removed from the lineup on Thursday. "I definitely didn’t expect this, but it’s definitely a good surprise," Tinordi said. Tinordi had 13 points in 67 AHL games this year, to go with one in the NHL.

The Blues announced the one-year deal with their head coach on Tuesday. Hitchcock owns a 224-103-36 record with St. Louis and his .667 career points percentage is the best in franchise history.

Patrick Marleau will not eceive supplemental disciplined for his hit on Pittsburgh Penguins forward Bryan Rust.

Nick Bonino scored the game-winning goal in Pittsburgh's 3-2 victory over the San Jose Sharks.

There was some initial speculation about whether or not Bonino would even be available for Game 1 after he seemed to be hurt when he blocked a shot in Game 7. That led to him missing a couple practices, but it ultimately didn't slow him down. He now has four goals and 16 points in 19 playoff contests. Bryan Rust and Conor Sheary netted the Penguins' other two goals. Sidney Crosby, Chris Kunitz, Kris Letang, Carl Hagelin, Justin Schultz, and Olli Maatta each registered an assist.

NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said that the Russian Federation has been told that Slava Voynov isn't eligible to play in the World Cup.

He remains suspended by the league, so he isn't allowed to play in the tournament despite being named to the team.

Troy Brouwer has thought about joining the Vancouver Canucks in free agency.

"Family and friends, playing for my hometown — it would be an experience for sure," he told Vancouver's News 1130 Sports on Monday. Brouwer is open to returning to the Blues if that works out too, but he can become an unrestricted free agent in July.

Kris Letang will play on Monday in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final.

He had a scheduled media appearance on Monday, which raised some eyebrows about his availability for the contest, but he said he was fine to play. Letang practiced on Saturday prior to sitting on Sunday for maintenance.

Patrick Marleau played 165 playoff games before reaching his first Stanley Cup Final.

He lost three times in the Conference Finals and needed 16 trips to the playoffs to get to this point. The 36-year-old forward has 64 goals and 115 points in the postseason, including 12 points in 18 games in 2016.

Kris Letang didn't take part in Penguins practice on Sunday.

Letang didn't meet the media and coach Mike Sullivan didn't provide an update on his status. All signs point to Letang being available for Game 1, but we won't know for sure until tomorrow. The 29-year-old has two goals and 10 points in 17 postseason games in 2016. The Pens can't afford to be without Letang under normal circumstances, but the fact that Trevor Daley (ankle) isn't available makes him even more important.

Matt Cullen left practice Saturday a few minutes early and did not return.

The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review stated that Cullen seemed to be walking 'gingerly' back to the locker room. If there is anything wrong, it should be updated either Sunday or Monday, otherwise assume he will be in the Pittsburgh lineup for Game 1 Monday.

David Backes hopes to sign a new deal with St. Louis.

"No question this is home. We've been here 10 years and this is what we consider home. I don't know anything else," said Backes. "Hopefully it all works out, but it is the unfortunate side of sports that guys staying with one team is rare but maybe I'm one of those rare guys. That would be great." He can become an unrestricted free agent in July, but he has said all along that he wants to stay with the only team that he has played for during his NHL career.

Jonathan Drouin wants to be back with the Lightning next season.

"I definitely want to be here," Drouin said. "I love the way this ended, I guess, with this different and weird year. ... It's definitely somewhere I want to play." Drouin had a strong finish to the season when he scored in two straight games prior to the playoffs. In the postseason, he registered five goals and 14 points in 17 outings. "He makes us a better team. It's as simple as that," GM Steve Yzerman said. "What he showed me, I think the best thing for this team right now is Jonathan Drouin on it."
