Bill Daly said on Sportsnet on Monday the Phoenix Coyotes are closer to being sold.

Daly said the purchase price would be over $150 million but said there's no guaranteed the Coyotes will remain in Glendale. The lead party is an investment group headed by Canadian financier George Gosbee and Canadian venture capitalist Anthony LeBlanc. "There’s no doubt we’re dealing with Mr. Gosbee and Mr. LeBlanc and trying to work through and get to a deal with them," Daly said. "But there are other interested people that we’re working with at the same time, as well. Nobody has exclusivity here. But obviously we’re getting close to having to make some decisions and sign some documentation, and we’ve got to work on it."

It looks like Jason Spezza will return to the lineup for Friday's game against the San Jose Sharks.

Spezza has missed each of Dallas' last two games because of a back injury. He's skating as a winger on Dallas' fourth line with Curtis McKenzie and Adam Cracknell during the pre-game warmup.

Dan Girardi (ankle) will rejoin the Rangers on Saturday.

Girardi was sidelined for about a month. Now that he's healthy again, he's projected to play alongside Ryan McDonagh.
Mar 24 - 6:44 PM

Bryan Rust (upper body) will return to the Penguins lineup on Friday night.

He'll be skating on a line with Matt Cullen and Phil Kessel. Rust hasn't played in a game since Feb. 9. He has 12 goals and 25 points in 50 games.
Mar 24 - 6:40 PM

Henrik Lundqvist (hip) plans to start on Sunday.

Goaltender Magnus Hellberg was returned to the minors on Thursday, so Lundqvist will likely serve as the backup netminder on Saturday before making his first start back. Lundqvist last played on March 7.
Mar 24 - 5:44 PM

The Penguins plan to start Marc-Andre Fleury Friday night.

Matt Murray got the nod on Thursday, so it's not surprising to see Fleury get a start here. Fleury has a 2.94 GAA and .911 save percentage in 35 contests this season.
Mar 24 - 5:22 PM

The Vancouver Canucks have announced that Richard Bachman will play between the pipes on Saturday.

Bachman is with the Canucks because Jacob Markstrom is sidelined, though Ryan Miller has gotten the bulk of the work while Markstrom is out. Bachman has a 1.53 GAA and .955 save percentage in two games with the Canucks this season.
Mar 24 - 3:53 PM

Aaron Dell is projected to get the start for the Sharks on Friday.

While Dell has clearly been the backup goaltender all season, Martin Jones and him have been splitting the goalie duties evenly recently. Dell has a 10-5-1 record, 1.85 GAA, and .936 save percentage in 17 contests.

Ryan Strome won't need surgery for his broken wrist.

Strome is still likely to miss the remainder of the regular season though as he has a three-to-six week timetable. The good news is that if the Islanders do make the playoffs and Strome is healthy on the earlier end of that timeline, then he might not miss much of the postseason.
Mar 24 - 11:18 AM

It looks like Jaroslav Halak will play between the pipes on Friday.

Unless that changes, this would be Halak's first start with the Islanders since Dec. 29. He struggled this season before being waived and demoted, but Halak has found his game in the AHL, posting a 2.15 GAA and .925 save percentage in 27 contests.

Anze Kopitar scored on the power-play and picked up an assist in the Kings' 5-2 win over Winnipeg on Thursday.

Kopitar is hot with six points in his last five games. It has still been a disappointing season for fantasy owners. The Kings' captain has 46 points in 67 games. Drew Doughty, Tyler Toffoli and Jake Muzzin also picked up multi-point nights. Marion Gaborik was credited with the game-winning-goal
Mar 24 - 1:41 AM

Patrick Kane scored a goal in regulation and one in the shootout in Thursday's 3-2 win over Dallas.

Kane opened the scoring with a power play goal at the 8:13 mark of the first period. He's now picked up at least one point in seven of his last eight contests. Kane has 33 goals and 81 points in 74 games this season. Marian Hossa also scored for the Blackhawks, while Artemi Panarin added the game-winner in the shootout.
