James Neal left Wednesday's game in the second period with an undisclosed injury.

It appears to be to his leg. Neal was seen limping on the ice during the Penguins' early power-play opportunity in the second period and was replaced by Beau Bennett on the line with Evgeni Malkin and Chris Kunitz. Neal had a shot on goal in 8:09.

Patrik Berglund played hero for the Blues on Sunday, scoring both of their goals in a 2-1 overtime win over Anaheim.

Berglund now has 10 goals and 17 points in 44 games this season and has been holding the hot stick lately. Five of his 10 goals this season have come this month, while nine of his 10 goals have come since Dec. 15. The 28-year-old will look to continue contributing on Tuesday night versus Ottawa.

Taylor Hall notched an overtime goal on Sunday night to lead the Devils to a 2-1 win over Vancouver.

Hall finishes the Devils' three-game Western Canada road swing with a point in each game. The 25-year-old has 11 goals and 28 points in 35 games so far with New Jersey. Hall had four shots on goal in 19:32 of ice time.

Devan Dubnyk and the Wild overcame a two-goal deficit to beat the Blackhawks 3-2 on Sunday evening.

Dubnyk made 33 saves on 35 shots to claim his fourth straight victory — stopping 10 shots from Patrick Kane alone. The 30-year-old improves to 23-7-3 with a 1.78 goals against average and .940 save percentage. Dubnyk has been remarkable through the first half of the season.

Philipp Grubauer collected the second shutout of the season, and career, by stopping all 24 pucks the Flyers sent his way in the 5-0 matinee win on Sunday.

The young understudy was simply sensational, turning away all nine Philadelphia power play shots across five opportunities. To wit, the Caps didn't score until mid-way through the game and then potted four in the third period. Suffice it to say, Grubauer was their backbone today and improves his record to 8-1-1 thus far.

It's a classic story for Shane Doan.

The long-time Coyotes captain, and last remaining playing member of the original Winnipeg Jets is open to the idea of being moved to a team who has a chance to win the Cup this year. That's huge news as far as Doan goes, who has resisted such a move for years now. It's also huge news for the Coyotes who will get a chance to see who their new leader may be. Stay tuned.

It's true, Shayne Gostisbehere will indeed play in Sunday's match against the Capitals after sitting out Saturday's game versus Boston.

Through 42 games, the offensive defender has posted four goals and 19 points along with 51 blocks. If you haven't already, get him back in your lineup.

Kris Letang injured his left knee in the first period Saturday and played only one more shift and then did not return.

There was no update after the game from the injury-prone defenseman and while we will now say he is day-to-day, it may be worse than that. Letang has played in only 30 of the Penguins 42 games thus far with four goals and 19 assists. Letang was seen walking after the game with a bit of a limp. Stay tuned. If Letang is out for any significant length of time, Justin Schultz's fantasy value will continue to grow. Letang did manage to score early in the game to give the Pens a 1-0 lead.
Jan 15 - 10:14 AM

There was no update as to the status of Antti Raanta (lower body) after Saturday's game.

Raanta was injured in the first period and did not return for the start of the second. Hopefully, there will be an update on Sunday but do not be surprised if the Rangers are forced to recall Magnus Hellberg from their AHL affiliate in Hartford. Raanta was perfect on 10 shots Saturday and is 10-4-0 with a 2.23 GAA and a .923 save percentage. He has been a must-own especially if you also have Henrik Lundqvist.

It's still a little stunning, but Peter Budaj continues to mop up wins, getting his 20th of the 2016-17 season as the Los Angeles Kings beat the Winnipeg Jets 3-2 in overtime.

Budaj's now 20-11-3 with a solid .917 save percentage and four shutouts in 2016-17. This matches the second-best win total of his career (he had 20 in 2008-09, but also lost 29 games that season). His career-high is 31 wins from 2006-07.
Jan 15 - 2:21 AM

Jeff Carter scored the OTGWG for the Los Angeles Kings in their 3-2 overtime win against the Winnipeg Jets, because of course he did.

That's the third overtime game-winner for Carter, who has eight GWG overall this season. No surprise that he has a lot of goals (23) and his 40 points in 43 games represents some of the best work of his career. The Kings would be in a world of hurt without their remarkable sniper.

The good news for fantasy owners is that Joe Thornton helped some in the penalty minutes category with 15 in the San Jose Sharks' 4-0 loss to the St. Louis Blues on Saturday.

The bad news is that, however remote or legitimate the risk may be, owners must also keep an eye out for potential supplemental discipline. The NHL may want to make "an example" of Thornton, although spearing infractions often are dealt with merely by assessing the in-game penalty as adequate. We'll need to wait and see.
