Don't expect Jason Spezza (back) to rejoin the Senators lineup anytime soon.

Spezza, who had surgery to repair a disc in his back on Jan. 31, didn't even come with the Senators on their trip to Montreal, opting to stay in Ottawa to continue his rehab. "He’s continuing his process and his rehab, so I’m not sure what that entails today, but he’s in Ottawa, I know that," said coach Paul MacLean. "He’s rehabbing. I’m not sure if he’s skating or he’s just in the gym. He’s having a normal rehab day whatever that requires. I have no idea (if he’s closer)."

Ben Bishop (elbow) won't be available for Game 4.

"I can't sit here and say if he'd be ready for the rest of the series. Clearly we'd have to extend the series for any hope of that," said coach Jon Cooper. "Every day he is getting closer and closer, but no Game 4." Anders Lindback will probably get the nod again in Bishop's absence. The Lightning will try to avoid playoff elimination on Tuesday night.

Matt Duchene (knee) skated Monday for the first time since suffering a sprained MCL on March 29.

"The trainer thought it was good timing for him to start skating today," coach Patrick Roy said. "We'll go day-to-day with him on the skating, and then hopefully he can start practicing with the team." He skated and did some stickhandling, but he didn't participate in any team drills.

David Backes won't play in Game 3 on Monday with what is believed to be an upper-body injury.

The Blues aren't saying much about his status, but it was confirmed that he wouldn't play in Game 3 after he received an illegal check from Chicago's Brent Seabrook on Saturday.
Apr 21 - 3:06 PM

Patrik Berglund (upper body) will play Monday in Game 3.

He missed the last regular season game and the Blues' first two playoff games with an upper-body injury. Berglund was between Ryan Reaves and Brenden Morrow during the morning skate.
Apr 21 - 2:58 PM

Ray Emery will be in goal for the Flyers in Game 3 on Tuesday night.

Steve Mason has been ruled out for the contest, so Cal Heeter will serve as Emery's backup again. Emery bounced back from a rough start in Game 2 to help Philadelphia rally for a 4-2 victory. As a result, there's a good chance that he would've started Game 3 even if Mason was ready.
Apr 21 - 1:55 PM

Dany Heatley will draw back into Minnesota's lineup for Game 3.

He was a healthy scratch in the team's previous two games of their first-round series against Colorado. "[Heatley's] played well against these guys this year," coach Mike Yeo said. "Veteran presence, a guy who's got a lot of experience in the playoffs. We're adding a guy who ... has more playoff points than anybody on our team." Yeo also praised Heatley for his professionalism and he's hoping that he has a strong game.
Apr 21 - 1:45 PM

Darcy Kuemper will be between the pipes for the Wild in Game 3 against Colorado.

It will mark his first career playoff start and his first start since Mar. 27. Kuemper had been sidelined with an upper-body injury, which was believed to be a concussion, prior to his return in Game 2. He began the game on the bench as Minnesota's backup, but he ended up coming into the contest in relief after Ilya Bryzgalov was pulled. He stopped all 14 shots he faced.
Apr 21 - 1:14 PM

Ondrej Palat scored his first career NHL playoff goal in his return to the lineup on Sunday.

He missed Game 2 with an upper-body injury. Palat's power-play marker in the second tied the game at 1-1, but the Canadiens ended up winning the match by a score of 3-2. Due to Steve Stamkos' injury and Martin St. Louis' trade to New York, Palat finished as Tampa Bay's leading scorer during the regular season.

The Columbus Blue Jackets have been giving the Penguins fits when Pittsburgh has been on the power play in the first two games of the series.

The Penguins have only 13 shots on goal in 11 power play chances while the Blue Jackets have put four on net while shorthanded. The Penguins have scored three times with the man-advantage but the Blue Jackets have scored twice shorthanded. Game 3 is in Columbus on Monday.
Apr 21 - 8:46 AM

Brian Gibbons is day-to-day with his undisclosed injury.

The Penguins are keeping quiet about the injury Gibbons suffered in the first period after he potted a couple of goals. Consider him questionable for Game 3 at this time.
Apr 21 - 8:42 AM

Fedor Tyutin (undisclosed) is unlikely to play in Game 3 Monday.

Tyutin was injured during the first period on Saturday and never returned. Look for either Nick Schultz or Dalton Prout to take his place in the lineup.
