Carey Price faced only 16 shots Saturday night as the Montreal Canadiens beat the Colorado Avalanche 10-1.

The first-place Canadiens easily outmatched the seventh-place Avs, but the loss was sobering nonetheless. Since all of the action occurred on the other end of the ice, Price’s giveaway at the 19:47 minute mark of the first was not only already meaningless, but he had undoubtedly lowered his guard. Price recorded a save percentage of .938.

Pekka Rinne faced 34 shots Saturday night and gave up four goals as the Nashville Predators lost to the Arizona Coyotes 4-1.

This was the fourth straight game in which Rinne had a save percentage lower than .900, but it is only the second time this season that he posted back-to-back defeats. Rinne has a season long save percentage of .922, but that has taken a beating in his last four contests with an .843, including a .778 contest when he was pulled early from the Stars Thursday night.
Dec 10 - 11:56 PM

Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin scored two goals apiece as the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-3 Saturday night.

Crosby now has 20 goals in 22 games. This is the fifth time this season that he scored two goals in a game, although he is still looking for his first hat trick. Crosby was shaken up on a play early in the match and returned with a vengeance to score a goal in his third straight game and to extend his point streak to seven consecutive contests. This was Malkin’s 12th goal of the season and the second time this season that he scored twice.
Dec 10 - 10:23 PM

Max Pacioretty scored four times as the Montreal Canadiens pummeled the Colorado Avalanche 10-1 Saturday night.

Pacioretty picked up the game-winning goal at just the 5:13 mark of the first period. He completed the hat trick late in the second and added his fourth in the third. Pacioretty's four goals vaulted him to 12 for the season and into the team lead for the Canadiens in front of injured center Alex Galchenyuk. He also posted an assist for a five-point performance.
Dec 10 - 10:10 PM

Marian Gaborik scored his first goal of the season during Saturday's 4-1 win over the Senators.

It's been a long time coming. Gaborik now has points in four of his last five games, which isn't surprising because he has four points in six total games played thus far.
Dec 10 - 9:37 PM

Shane Doan will go for his 400th career goal against the Predators on Saturday.

The Coyotes leader in nearly everything, needs just to ring the bell just once more to accomplish the feat. In doing so, he'll be the first member of the Coyotes/original-Jets franchise to crack the 400-goal plateau. Which is pretty amazing considering some guy name Dale Hawerchuk once played for them.
Dec 10 - 7:02 PM

Pekka Rinne will go for his 250th career win against the Coyotes on Saturday.

The veteran netminder comes in having posted a 15-6-2 record with a .928 save percentage and 48 goals against in 24 games. Considering Arizona will also be missing Max Domi, and Rinne seems set to make reach another personal milestone.

Dec 10 - 4:42 PM

Jakub Voracek's torrid scoring streak continued during Saturday's 4-2 win over the Stars.
