Look for the Canadiens to draft and/or acquire some bigger players this off-season.

The belief amongst Montreal management is that the team is fast enough to be competitive but lacks the size to defeat the bigger and more aggressive teams in the NHL. We expect the Habs will focus their attention on a number of the more physical free agents in the market and perhaps make a deal or two to bring in a power forward who can play on one of the team's top three lines and a rugged top six defenseman

Logan Couture (mouth) won't join the Sharks before the end of their road trip.

Couture didn't join the Sharks in Edmonton for Thursday's game, but this news also rules him out for Friday and and Sunday's contests. He has 25 goals and 52 points in 73 contests this season.
Mar 30 - 2:27 PM

Keith Kinkaid will play between the pipes on Friday.

The Devils are splitting their goaltending duties for their upcoming set of back-to-back contests with Kinkaid getting the first half of it. He has a 2.73 GAA and .914 save percentage in 23 games this season.
Mar 30 - 2:12 PM

Erik Karlsson (undisclosed) is a game-time decision Thursday.

Karlsson was hurt when he blocked a shot on Tuesday. He was briefly on the ice Thursday morning, but didn't participate in the morning skate. If he doesn't play then it will bring an end to his run of 324 consecutive games.
Mar 30 - 1:52 PM

Johnny Boychuk (lower body) will return on Thursday.

Boychuk was sidelined for 12 straight games. He has six goals and 21 points in 59 games this season. With his return, Thomas Hickey is projected to spend the game in the press box.
Mar 30 - 11:50 AM

Frank Vatrano is dealing with an unspecified injury.

Vatrano won't play on Thursday and is day-to-day beyond that. He has 10 goals and 18 points in 42 games this season. Matt Beleskey will draw into the lineup as a result and play alongside Ryan Spooner and Jimmy Hayes.
Mar 30 - 11:39 AM

Reto Berra will probably play between the pipes Thursday night.

Berra is now looking like the Panthers' de facto starting goaltender because James Reimer and Roberto Luongo are both hurt, though Luongo might return soon. Berra has a 2.22 GAA and .907 save percentage in four games this season.
Mar 30 - 11:15 AM

Frederik Andersen (upper body) appears to be ready to return Thursday versus Nashville.

"We'll see on the plane, but I'm looking pretty positive and I feel ready to go," said Andersen shortly before accompanying his team to Nashville. He faced shots at Wednesday's optional practice and the Leafs returned Garret Sparks to the minors, so the Danish netminder will likely dress Thursday at the very least. Andersen has posted a 6-1-2 record in March with a 2.14 GAA and a .936 save percentage.
Mar 30 - 9:49 AM

Nathan MacKinnon scored a goal and an assist in the 5-3 loss to Washington Wednesday night.

MacKinnon racked up two points to hit 50 and increase his lead over Matt Duchene to 13. The forward led his team in shots on goal with six in 20 minutes of ice time. Six shots are the most he has made in a single game in 28 contests since Colorado's loss to Los Angeles on January 31.
Mar 30 - 1:00 AM

Jarome Iginla netted a goal and an assist in a much needed 4-1 win against Calgary Wednesday night.

Iginla has visited his old haunting grounds of Scotiabank Saddledome six times since leaving Calgary in 2012-13. He had not scored a point in any of visits back until tonight. Iginla scored an unassisted goal in the second period after having to sit out five minutes of the first period for a fight with Deryk Engelland. Iginla also connected with Marian Gaborik to assist on Jeff Carter’s third-period goal.
Mar 30 - 12:24 AM

Artemi Panarin scored a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Panarin opened the scoring just 3:23 into the game and he also picked up an assist on Marcus Kruger's goal in the final minute of the frame. The 'Hawks forward finished the game with a plus-2 rating and four shots on goal in 16:16 of ice time. Panarin has 26 goals and 69 points in 77 games this season. Richard Panik, Marian Hossa and Tanner Kero also found the back of the net for Chicago.
Mar 29 - 10:50 PM

Tyson Jost has signed a three-year, entry-level contract with Colorado.

He'll join the team immediately and could play as early as Friday. The 19-year-old, who was drafted 10th overall in 2016, posted 16 goals and 35 points in 33 games with North Dakota in his freshman season.
