Adam Burish insisted that that he's good to go for Game 6 for the San Jose Sharks against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday.

He's recovering from a broken right hand. He said he's good to go unless something changes ... or he eats some bad chicken.

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired Brooks Orpik and Philipp Grubauer from the Washington Capitals in exchange for the 47th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Orpik had 10 assists in 81 games in 2017-18. While the Avalanche are getting a solid defensive defenseman, the big deal for Washington is getting out from under his $5.5 million cap hit for the 2018-19 campaign. Washington can then use that added cap space to help sign John Carlson, who is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1.

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired Philipp Grubauer and Brooks Orpik from the Washington Capitals in exchange for the 47th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Entry Draft.

Grubauer is a restricted free agent and wanted to be moved so that he would get an opportunity to be a starting goaltender. The Avalanche do have Semyon Varlamov, but he's only signed for one more season, so if Grubauer has a strong 2018-19 campaign then there's a good chance he'll end up as the Avalanche's long-term option. He had a 2.35 GAA and .923 save percentage in 35 games last season.

Stephen Johns has signed a three-year, $7.05 million contract extension with the Dallas Stars.

Johns eight goals and 15 points in 75 games last season. The blueliner also averaged 17:33 minutes per game and accumulated 201 hits and 155 blocked shots. The 26-year-old is coming off a two-year, $1.45 million contract.

The Carolina Hurricanes and Elias Lindholm's camp reportedly had a discouraging contract discussion Friday afternoon.

The two sides are apparently still far away from each other. Lindholm can become a restricted free agent on July 1. He has 64 goals and 188 points in 374 career games, but at the age of 23 he still has a significant amount of upside, which is likely part of what's complicating the negotiations. The end result here might be that the Hurricanes trade him rather than agree to an extension.

The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed Louis Domingue to a two-year, $2.3 million contract.

Domingue was set to become a restricted free agent after completing his previous two-year, $2.1 million contract. He had a 3.41 GAA and .894 in 19 games between Arizona and Tampa Bay last season. While those numbers are obviously bad, it's worth noting that he recorded a 2.89 GAA and .914 save percentage over his 12 contests with Tampa Bay. He will serve as Andrei Vasilevskiy's backup.

Markus Granlund has signed a one-year, $1.45 million contract with the Vancouver Canucks.

Granlund is coming off a rough campaign where he had eight goals and 12 points in 53 contests. This new deal can be seen as a show-me contract as he needs to prove to the Canucks that he is worthy of a long-term investment. He does have potential and it will be worth keeping an eye on him in 2018-19.

The Tampa Bay Lightning won't re-sign Chris Kunitz.

Kunitz will consequently test the unrestricted free agent market. The 38-year-old had 13 goals and 29 points in 82 contests last season. He's hoping to extend his career and it wouldn't be surprising if there is at least some interest in the four-time Stanley Cup champion.

The Buffalo Sabres have confirmed that they won't present Robin Lehner with a qualifying offer.

Such an offer had to be $4 million and the Sabres likely felt that would be too high. As a result, Lehner can now test the UFA market on July 1. He had a 3.01 GAA and .908 save percentage in 53 games last season, but he's also had some strong campaigns as well. It wouldn't be surprising if another team has interest in him at least as a backup.

Paul Martin has been placed on unconditional waivers.

Unless another team claims him, Martin will have the final season of his contract bought out by the San Jose Sharks. That would save the Sharks $2,833,333 in cap space for 2018-19, but add $1,416,667 in 2019-20. The Sharks weren't hurting for cap space to begin with, but they've often been brought up as a potential destination for John Tavares should he decide to test the UFA market and it's possible that San Jose is trying to clear up more room ahead of that possibility.

Craig Anderson has reportedly requested that the Ottawa Senators trade him.

That might be difficult as Anderson is starting a two-year, $9.5 million contract. He's 37-years-old and coming off a campaign where he posted a 3.32 GAA and .898 save percentage, so there's probably not much of a market for him. Still, it's understandable that he'd want to be moved given that he's in the twilight of his career and the Senators are beginning a rebuilding process.

The Islanders have added eight more games to their Nassau Coliseum schedule, bringing the total number of home games they'll play there in 2018-19 to 20.

In other words, the Islanders' home schedule will be pretty evenly split between Nassau Coliseum, which was their home from 1972-2015, and Barclays Center. To say the least, it's unconventional for a team to have two home facilities they regularly play at. It's only a temporary situation though as the Islanders have a new stadium being built at Belmont Park, which will serve as the successor to both Nassau Coliseum and Barclays Center as far as the Islanders are concerned. That new stadium will likely open in 2021-22.
