Dustin Brown suffered a torn PCL in his knee during Game 6 of the second round.

Brown played through it, but had no points and a minus-three rating in the Western Conference finals. Overall, Brown was a physical force in the postseason, but he didn't do much offensively. That's in contrast to the 2012 playoffs when he tied for the league lead with 20 points in 20 games.

Nico Hischier scored in his first career preseason game as the Devils earned a 4-1 victory over the Washington Capitals Monday night.

Hischier was taken with the first overall pick in the 2017 NHL Entry Draft. While he might not have the same kind of impact that recent top picks Connor McDavid and Auston Matthews have had, Hischier obviously still has a lot of upside. He's a great pick in keeper leagues even if we would pencil him in for 40-50 points for the 2017-18 campaign. Kyle Palmieri, Stefan Noesen, and Mirco Mueller netted the Devils' other three goals. Nathan Walker found the back of the net for Washington.

Mikko Koivu has signed a two-year, $11 million contract extension with the Minnesota Wild.

Koivu is entering the final season of his seven-year, $47.25 million contract, so he's now locked up through the 2019-20 campaign. That means he'll be 37-years-old by the time his extension ends. In that context, the $5.5 million cap hit he'll receive during his new contract seems reasonable. There's obviously an element of risk there given his age, but he's solid offensively and a strong defensive center. He also means a lot to the organization as the only full-time captain the Wild have ever had and he's the franchise leader in both games played and points.

21-year-old Tyler Wong scored Las Vegas' first pre-season goal in franchise history on Sunday night, then added three more points in the 9-4 blowout over Vancouver.

Wong made sure Vegas lit the lamp in style for the first goal in Golden Knights history. Taking a stunning flip pass from Cody Glass that split the Canucks' defense, Wong stormed down the wing and lifted a backhander into the net for an early 1-0 lead. Wong ended the night with a hat trick and an assist, picking up right where he left off from his 109-point season in the WHL last year.

The Arizona Coyotes have acquired Jason Demers from the Florida Panthers in exchange for Jamie McGinn.

Demers had nine goals and 28 points in 81 contests with Florida in 2016-17. He's got a shot at being a second pairing defenseman with the Coyotes. "We are very pleased to add Jason to our blueline corps," said Coyotes GM John Chayka. "Jason is a skilled right-handed shot defenseman who moves the puck well and has good offensive ability. He will be a great addition to our team." It's worth noting that the Panthers are also retaining 12.5% of Demers' annual $4.5 million cap hit.

Alexander Radulov was skating alongside Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn at practice on Sunday.

Well, we knew that was coming. New coach Ken Hitchcock has to make a decision as to whether Radulov is a fit with his two superstars. If he is, then Radulov becomes a very valuable fantasy commodity. Keep an eye on this situation going forward.

The Philadelphia Flyers have reportedly hired Dean Lombardi.

Lombardi has been available for hire since he was let go by the Los Angeles Kings during the off-season. According to TSN's Pierre LeBrun, Lombardi will be working under Flyers GM Ron Hextall. Lombardi was the GM of the Kings when they won the Stanley Cup in 2012 and 2014. Of course, Hextall was Lombardi's assistant GM in Los Angeles.

Zach Aston-Reese is skating on a line with Evgeni Malkin and Phil Kessel in training camp

This trio has been skating together for the first two days of training camp, which is kind of telling. Aston-Reese probably won't play there during the regular season, but the Pens want to see what he could do with elite offensive players. There's a chance Aston-Reese could crack the Penguins roster this fall. The 23-year-old had 63 points in 38 games with Northeastern University last season. He added eight points in 10 games in the AHL.

Zach Parise (back) is considered day-to-day, according to coach Bruce Boudreau.

Boudreau doesn't think it's serious, but for now the team is being "overly precautions." It was reported recently that Parise tweaked his back. He didn't skate with his teammates on the first day of training camp, but he was on the ice before practice with the team's skating coach. Parise isn't a stranger to battling injury issues and his fantasy stock has taken a considerable hit for the last two seasons as a result.

Nikita Zadorov has inked a two-year contract with Colorado worth $4.3 million.

Zadorov didn't show up for medicals on Thursday, but he'll report to training camp now that he is under contract. In 56 games, he registered 10 assists, 73 penalty minutes, 153 hits and 69 blocks.

Anaheim GM Bob Murray hopes to have Ryan Kesler back in the lineup by Christmas.

However, there is no official timeline for Kesler's return. He underwent hip surgery on June 8. Kesler appeared in all 82 games with the Ducks last season, while accounting for 22 goals, 58 points and 83 penalty minutes.

Sami Vatanen (shoulder) might be available to play sometime in November.

He won't be a full participant at training camp, but feels he is on the right track. "It's not ready yet," Vatanen said. "I'm progressing every day. I've been skating right now and doing a little bit of passing and shooting. It feels better every week. We've just got to keep doing what we're doing and try not to have any setbacks."
