Columbus Blue Jackets GM Jarmo Kekalainen said he's "optimistic" the team will work out a new deal with goalie Sergei Bobrovsky.

KHL president Alexander Medvedev said Monday he's confident in the offer SKA St. Petersburg made to Bobrovsky, but the KHL has always seemed like more of a negotiating ploy than a real option. For his part, Kekalainen doesn't seem worried about losing the Vezina winner. "Obviously it's a big piece of the puzzle, he's a great player, great goaltender and we want him back," Kekalainen said. "We're working hard to get him back, we're optimistic we can get him back and sign him to a contract. We've had some good conversations with his agent."

Dylan Larkin found the back of the net in Friday's 3-1 win over the Buffalo Sabres.

Larkin's fourth goal of the season gave the Wings a 3-1 lead at the 15:54 mark of the third period. He finished the game with six shots on goal and a blocked shot in 21:57 of ice time. Larkin has recorded at least one point in four of his team's last five games. He has 19 points in 20 games in 2017-18. He's definitely worth owning in most fantasy formats. Luke Glendening and Tomas Tatar also scored for the Red Wings in the win.

Sergei Bobrovsky stopped all 36 shots he faced in Friday's 2-0 win over the New York Rangers.

The shutout was his second of the season. The Russian netminder has now rattled off three straight wins over the Red Wings, Canadiens and Rangers. Tonight's victory improves Bobrovsky's record to 11-4-1 on the season. He'll enter his next start with a 2.02 goals-against-average and a .933 save percentage. Bobrovsky is a top three fantasy option at his position.

The Vegas Golden Knights have activated Malcolm Subban (lower body) off injured reserve.

The injury sidelined Subban for 11 games. He'll likely serve as Vegas' starting goaltender until Marc-Andre Fleury (concussion) returns to the lineup. Subban has a 2-0-0 record with a 2.06 goals-against-average and a .936 save percentage this season.

Matthew Tkachuk has been suspended one game for his role in Wednesday's bench-clearing brawl against Detroit.

Tkachuk received a five-minute penalty and a game misconduct for a spearing incident. He'll miss Saturday's game against the Philadelphia Flyers, but he'll be able to return for Monday's game against the Washington Capitals.

The Columbus Blue Jackets will make David Savard a healthy scratch on Friday night.

Savard is supposed to be one of Columbus' key figures on defense, but the coaching staff clearly isn't happy with his work. He has two goals, four assists and a minus-1 rating in 19 games this season. Gabriel Carlsson will take Savard's spot in the lineup. Scott Harrington will also watch the game from the press box.
Nov 17 - 6:36 PM

Anton Khudobin will play between the pipes on Saturday.

Khudobin earned a second straight start by stopping 27 shots in a 2-1 win over Los Angeles on Thursday. He's 4-0-2 with a 2.35 GAA and .928 save percentage in seven games this season.
Nov 17 - 5:57 PM

Kari Lehtonen will be Dallas' starter on Saturday.

Lehtonen stopped 26 of 29 shots in a 4-3 shootout loss in his last start on Tuesday. He has a 2-3-1 record, 2.48 GAA, and .910 save percentage in six games this season.

Chris Wideman's lower-body injury is a "ripped" hamstring, per Senators coach Guy Boucher.

Wideman will be sidelined for "weeks" as a result. He was hurt on Thursday when he fell awkwardly in the third period with Pittsburgh's Evgeni Malkin on top of him. Wideman has three goals and eight points in 16 games this season.
Nov 17 - 1:59 PM

The Columbus Blue Jackets have confirmed that they have signed Cam Atkinson to a seven-year extension.

The contract had been reported Thursday night, but it was suggested that the deal was worth $40.25 million when he actually signed for a little more at $41.125 million. He could have become an unrestricted free agent this summer after completing his current three-year, $10.5 million deal. He set career-highs last season with 35 goals and 62 points, but he's been cold so far in 2017-18 with six points in 15 contests. Perhaps now that the weight of the contract talks are over, he'll start to heat up.

Duncan Keith was unavailable for another practice due to an illness.

It was anticipated that Keith would be able to play on Saturday despite the bug, but given that he's now missed back-to-back practices we're going to err on the side of caution and list him as day-to-day. He has no goals and 10 assists in 19 games this season.
Nov 17 - 12:53 PM

Mike Smith (upper body) has confirmed that he will be available on Saturday.

We suspected as much after the Flames sent goalie Jon Gillies to the minors Thursday afternoon, but now we have confirmation. Smith only ended up missing one game due to the ailment.
