There's a chance that Dustin Penner will end up playing alongside Ryan Getzlaf and Corey Perry.

Before Penner left the Ducks in 2007, the trio had been working very well together. "Yeah, I think he had great success playing with Getzy and Corey," Ducks GM Bob Murray said. "We don't know if the chemistry will still be there but I would imagine it is and hopefully it will be. We're all probably kind of looking forward to trying again because we've had a rotating group of people at that left wing position since he left. It’d be nice if it worked and it was kind of stable for a change." If Penner plays on the Ducks top line, it would obviously be a big boost to his fantasy value.

Zdeno Chara (knee) skated on his own for the first time in a month on Monday morning.

"It's a start, yeah, it's a start," coach Claude Julien said. "Again, he’s certainly not close to being [with us] yet. It's his first time in a long time, and it's always encouraging to see your player back on skates, that's for sure." He suffered a torn PCL back on Oct. 23.

David Krejci (hip) won't play Monday night and coach Claude Julien provided an update on the center's status.

"The only thing I would tell you is that from everything I'm being told, it's not something we're going to have to manage all year and I know that's a big issue in wondering what's going on, but it's something that's going to be fixed is what I'm being told." Krejci has been in and out of the lineup with what is believed to be a hip issue, but he when Julien stressed he was 100 percent. His injury has been complicated, but there is some hope that he will get over it.

Niklas Backstrom will get the nod for Minnesota on Monday against Florida.

The Wild will be hoping his success against the Panthers continues. He owns a 5-0-1 record versus the Cats and is 3-0 in Florida. Backstrom was pulled in a 4-3 overtime win over Winnipeg on Nov. 16 in his last start.

Quinn was one of the most prolific coaches in NHL history, serving as the bench boss for Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Vancouver, Toronto and Edmonton over the span of three decades. He ranks fifth on the NHL's all-time wins list for head coaches with 684 in 1,400 career games. Our condolences go out to his family.

Jannik Hansen scored a hat trick in Vancouver's 4-1 win over Chicago on Sunday.

The 28-year-old had five goals in 20 games coming into this one, so the hat trick was a little unexpected. Hansen opened the scoring in the first period, and then gave the Canucks a 2-1 lead in the third before scoring an empty netter to ice the game. He has scored five of his eight goals in his last three games. Hansen was the game's first star. Radim Vrbata scored the other goal for Vancouver.

Martin St. Louis scored a goal and an assist in the Rangers' 5-0 beat down of the Canadiens.

St. Louis assisted Derek Stepan's second period goal and he also netted his own goal in the second frame. The two points were the 997th and 998th of St. Louis' career. The Rangers next game is in Tampa Bay on Wednesday, so St. Louis has an opportunity to collect his 1000th point against his former team. The Rangers just dominated the Habs tonight. Dominic Moore, Derek Stepan, Carl Hagelin and Rick Nash scored the other goals for New York.

David Pastrnak has been called up to the big club in Boston.

The 18 year old Pastrnak was the 25th overall pick in the 2014 Entry Draft and has five goals and 18 points in 17 AHL games this season.

Jay Bouwmeester will not play in St. Louis' game against Winnipeg on Sunday.

Bouwmeester has played in 737 consecutive games but that streak will be snapped today. It's still a very impressive streak all things considered. There's no word on how serious the lower-body injury is right now. He is considered day-to-day.

According to Darren Dreger of TSN, the Edmonton Oilers are looking to trade winger David Perron.

Oilers' GM Craig MacTavish is reportedly looking for a top line center in return. The 26-year-old has two goals and 10 points in 21 games this season.

Daniel Sedin will play in his 1,000th NHL game on Sunday when the Canucks host the Chicago Blackhawks.

Daniel has 311 goals and 825 career points with the Canucks in 999 games and one interesting stat is that he was a minus-player only once in his career when he was minus-three as a rookie. Even under John Tortorella last season, he was still even in the plus/minus category. Congratulations to Daniel Sedin on the accomplishment tonight.
Nov 23 - 11:16 AM

Nick Leddy is thriving with the Islanders as he has five goals and nine points in 20 games.

Leddy was dealt from the Blackhawks just before the start of the season and has been a force offensively for the suddenly respectable Islanders who are second in the Metropolitan Division with 28 points in 20 games. Leddy had 31 points last season for Chicago but is getting a much better chance to showcase his talents on Long Island than he would with the Blackhawks as he always had Duncan Keith and Brent Seabrook in front of him on the depth charts. If available in deeper leagues, grab Leddy.
