Claude Giroux (finger surgery) says he expects to resume skating in two to three weeks.

Giroux had to undergo surgery Thursday after he tore tendons while golfing when his club snapped and splintered into his finger. To hear Giroux talk about his recovery, it sounds like he'll be good to go by the end of the preseason. Even if he misses the full six weeks, he'd be on track to return for Philly's final preseason game. This injury shouldn't affect how your rank Giroux or where you plan to draft him.

Nino Niederreiter scored two goals and an assist in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Arizona Coyotes.

Niederreiter picked up the primary assist on Eric Staal's first period-goal before adding one of his own about nine minutes later. The Wild forward also added the game-winning goal with just over seven minutes remaining in the game. Niederreiter is now riding a three-game point streak. The 24-year-old is up to 14 goals and 31 points in 44 games this season.

Michael Grabner scored a pair of goals in Thursday's 5-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Grabner scored both of his goals in the final 5:03 of the game, as his shorthanded goal gave New York a 4-2 lead and his empty netter made it 5-2. Grabner now has nine points in his last six games and he's up 21 goals and eight assists in 45 games this season. Brady Skjei, Pavel Buchnevich and J.T. Miller also scored for the Rangers tonight.
Jan 19 - 11:45 PM

Jake Allen got the hook in Thursday's game against the Washington Capitals.

Allen was yanked at the 7:33 mark of the second period after he allowed a fourth goal on the 10th shot he faced. The Blues ended up losing the game 7-3, but backup goalie Carter Hutton allowed the last three goals. Allen has now been pulled in each of his last three starts. He has a 17-12-3 record with a 2.85 goals-against-average and a .897 save percentage in 2016-17. We don't recommend using him in standard fantasy leagues right now.

Alex Steen scored a pair of goals and an assist in Thursday's 7-3 loss to the Washington Capitals.

Steen scored both his goals in the third period when the game was already out of reach. He also helped set up Jaden Schwartz's goal in the second frame. Steen finished the game with a plus-2 rating and three shots on goal in 16:21 of ice time. Steen has eight goals and 30 points in 40 games.
Jan 19 - 11:27 PM

Mike Condon stopped all 42 shots he faced in a 2-0 shutout win over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Thursday.

Condon is proving to be one of the best bargain goaltending acquisitions since the Minnesota Wild picked up Devan Dubnyk from the Coyotes. Condon has now started 17 straight for the Sens and boasts a 12-7-3 record. He has wins in four of his last five games and has his goals against average and save percentage sitting at 2.31 and .920 respectively. His 46% yahoo ownership rate should be much higher as the undisputed starter in the Senators goal.
Jan 19 - 10:34 PM

Thomas Greiss stopped all 23 shots he faced in a 3-0 win over the Dallas Stars.

After giving up seven goals in a loss to the Hurricanes on Saturday, Greiss has responded by posting back-to-back shutouts for the Islanders. The win improves his record to 12-7-2 with a 2.30 goals against average and .927 save percentage. Having started eight straight games for the Islanders, he is shaping into a great option for fantasy managers during the second half of the season. His ownership rate in yahoo leagues should be higher than its current mark of 63%.
Jan 19 - 10:19 PM

Tyson Barrie will miss Thursday's match with the Ducks due to a lower body injury.

Colorado's top blue liner has picked up three goals and 23 points along with 42 hits in 42 games so far this season. He is considered day-to-day, for now.
Jan 19 - 9:49 PM

Logan Couture will be a game-time decision (illness) on Thursday against Tampa Bay.

Through 44 games the veteran has 14 goals and 27 points along with 34 hits and 42 blocks. He's also shooting at an 11.8% clip, his highest since the 2012-13 campaign.

Coyotes GM John Chayka had a few words on why he and the management group decided to send Anthony Duclair to the AHL on Thursday.

"Anthony is a good young player," Chayka said. "Unfortunately, he has struggled this season. We felt this was a good time to send him to Tuscon to work on a few things and hopefully regain his scoring touch. We hope to have him rejoin our team soon." The 21-year-old Duclair went straight from Quebec of the QMJHL to the Rangers after they drafted him 80th overall in 2013, so this will be his first taste of the AHL. Through 41 games this season with the Coyotes, Duclair has posted three goals and nine points with just 58 shots on net.
Jan 19 - 8:03 PM

Louis Domingue is expected to start Thursday night.

Domingue will be going for his first win since Jan. 7. He has a 5-11-1 record, 3.14 GAA, and .900 save percentage in 20 contests this season.
Jan 19 - 3:48 PM

Jonathan Huberdeau (Achilles) might not play at all in 2016-17.

Losing Huberdeau has been a major blow to the Panthers and not getting him back at all will severely hinder their chances of making the playoffs. As Panthers coach Tom Rowe noted though, Florida will not rush back one of their franchise players. Huberdeau has 58 goals and 172 points in 272 career games.
