Brandon Dubinsky scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 4-1 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.

He snapped a 17-game goal drought in the process. Dubinsky netted a pair of huge goals, as he made it 2-1 and 3-1 for the Blue Jackets. He finished the game with a plus-3 rating, three shots on goal and two hits in 16:37 of ice time. The 30-year-old now has five goals and 13 assists in 41 games this season.

Morgan Rielly suffered a lower-body injury in Tuesday's game against the Buffalo Sabres.

Rielly was taken down before crashing into the boards awkwardly. The Maple Leafs have already announced that he won't be returning to tonight's game. We'll consider him day-to-day for now.

Tyler Ennis won't suit up in Tuesday's game against the Maple Leafs.

Ennis made his return to the lineup on Monday after missing 30 games with a groin injury, and he managed to score 19 seconds into yesterday's game. The Sabres have said that he's being scratched for "precautionary reasons".

The New York Islanders announced that Jack Capuano has been relieved of his coaching duties with the team.

Assistant GM Doug Weight will take over as the interim head coach of the Islanders. New York posted a 4-0 win over Boston on Monday, but the club has the third worst record in the NHL at 17-17-8. Capuano helped guide the Islanders to the playoffs in three of the previous four years during his seven seasons with the organization.

Anze Kopitar (illness) feels ready to return Wednesday.

He missed Monday's match against Tampa Bay because of a stomach bug, but he was back on the ice Tuesday morning. Kopitar had a four-game point streak before he was forced out of the lineup.

St. Louis will stick with Carter Hutton between the pipes when the team hosts Ottawa on Tuesday night.

He was in the starter's net during the morning skate and was the first goalie off the ice, so he will make his third straight start. Hutton started back-to-back games over the weekend and stopped 55 of 56 shots in a pair of wins over San Jose and Anaheim.

Nashville has claimed Brad Hunt off waivers from St. Louis.

The Predators have injuries on the back end, so Hunt fills an immediate need and he could be a solid depth pickup. He has collected five points in nine games with the Blues this season.

Ondrej Pavelec has been called up by the Winnipeg Jets.

He has posted an 8-7-2 record with a 2.78 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage with the AHL's Manitoba Moose this season. Winnipeg has one win in the last six games and the goaltending hasn't been steady this year, so Pavelec could get some playing time.

In only his second start of the season and 17th of his career, Jujhar Khaira scored his first career goal in a 3-1 win over the Coyotes Monday night.

Khaira was relieved to get his first goal and now wants to build on that. He has eight goals and 10 assist so far this year with the AHL Bakersfield Condors in 24 starts. In 2015-16 with the Oilers he managed two assists in 15 games.

T.J. Oshie scored a goal and added two assists in the Washington Capitals' 8-7 overtime loss to the Penguins in Pittsburgh Monday night.

The loss snapped the Capitals' win streak at nine games. They squandered a lead of 3-0 before the Pens got rolling. Also notching multi-point games for Washington in this one were Alex Ovechkin (two assists), Lars Eller (two goals), Andre Burakovsky (a goal and an assist) and Matt Niskanen (two assists). Scoring goals in addition to Oshie, Eller and Burakovsky were Nicklas Backstrom, Justin Williams and Brett Connolly.
