Philadelphia Flyers GM Paul Holmgren said that Jakub Voracek should be able to play in the team's season-opener on Wednesday.

Voracek had a breakthrough season in 2013, scoring 22 goals and collecting 46 points in 48 games. His 17.1 shooting percentage indicates that he might slip a bit, but the pedigree and linemate talent is there.

Kari Lehtonen allowed two goals on 34 shots in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Tonight's start allowed Lehtonen to pass Miikka Kiprusoff for most games played by a Finnish goaltender with 624. The Stars netminder reached another milestone tonight, as he came away with the 300th victory of his NHL career. Lehtonen has now won two games in a row and three of his last four. He's also given up two goals or less in each of his last five outings. He has a 5-4-1 record with a 2.44 goals-against-average and a .913 save percentage this season.
Dec 13 - 11:33 PM

Anders Lee scored a pair of goals in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Dallas Stars.

The Islanders were trailing 4-0 in the third period when Lee scored two goals in just over 15 minutes. Unfortunately for the Islanders, that's as close as they'd come to tying the game. Lee is putting together an incredible season so far, as he's already scored 19 goals and 32 points in 31 games. He's currently on pace to hit the 50-goal mark for the first time in his career.
Dec 13 - 11:16 PM

Jamie Benn scored a goal and two assists in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the New York Islanders.

Benn picked up assists on both of Tyler Pitlick's goals. He also added a tally of his own in the second period to give the Stars a 4-0 lead at the time. Benn finished the game with a plus-3 rating, one shot on goal and three hits in 17:33 of ice time. The Stars forward now has eight points in his last seven contests. He's up to 13 goals and 29 points in 32 games this season.
Dec 13 - 11:09 PM

Bobby Ryan scored a goal and an assist in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the New York Rangers.

Dec 13 - 10:36 PM

Alexander Radulov suffered a lower-body injury in Wednesday's game against the Islanders.

Radulov had just over 14 minutes of ice time before going out of the game and not coming back. The Russian winger did manage to score a goal before exiting. He's considered day-to-day at this point. The Stars will likely provide an update on his status in the next day or so.
Dec 13 - 9:52 PM

Johnny Boychuk is expected to be in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dallas Stars.

Boychuk missed the last three games because of an undisclosed injury, but he's currently taking rushes during the pre-game warmup. It looks like he'll suit up on a pairing with Nick Leddy.
Dec 13 - 6:43 PM

It looks like Scott Hartnell (lower body) will indeed make his return on Wednesday.

Hartnell had been termed as a game-time decision, but the Predators have taken him off the injured reserve list. If he does play Wednesday night, his probable linemates are Colton Sissons and Austin Watson.
