Mattias Tedenby (lower body) practiced with the Devils on Tuesday.

New Jersey has placed Tedenby on the non-roster injured reserve list. He isn't expected to have any fantasy value in standard leagues this season.

The Red Wings have signed UFA reargaurd Mike Green to a three-year deal, $18 million.

Even though he can't stay healthy for a prolonged period of time and has defensive shortcomings, Green is still a very valuable NHL defenseman. He is even more valuable as a fantasy player due to his scoring capability and his ability to run a power play. We see Green as a nice fit for the Red Wings as he is provides a much-needed right-handed shot from the point and wouldn't be surprised if he averages .65 points per game. The question is, how many games will he play?

The Buffalo Sabres have signed Jack Eichel to a three-year/entry level deal.

You can assume that Eichel will get the maximum possible under the CBA. Eichel will be a top-two center for the Sabres this season and will be their top center for the years to come after taking over from Ryan O'Reilly who will eventually move to the second line. Look for Eichel to get 45-60 points this season, not too shabby for an 18-year-old.

Zack Kassian has been traded to Montreal, along with a fifth-round pick, in exchange for Brandon Prust.

Kassian generated 10 goals and 16 points in 42 games with Vancouver last season. He also added 81 penalty minutes and 88 hits. He sat out the last 14 games of the year and the playoffs with a back injury.

The New York Rangers have named Jeff Gorton as their new General Manager.

Former GM Glen Sather has stepped down to allow Gorton to take over the job but will remain as the club president. The Toronto Maple Leafs were denied permission to talk to Gorton about their GM's job earlier in the month and now you know why.

Phil Kessel has been traded to the Pittsburgh Penguins along with Tyler Biggs and Tim Erixon and a second round pick in 2016 for Kasperi Kappanen, Scott Harrington, Nick Spaling and the Penguins first and third picks in 2016.

The Maple Leafas will retain some salary, rumored to be in the $1.25 million range for the next seven seasons. This is a huge acquisition for the Pens as Kessel will slot in alongside either Sidney Crosby or Evgeni Malkin and could score 40-50 goals provided he comes to Pittsburgh with the right attitude. The Maple Leafs were desperate to rid themselves of Kessel as he was rumored to be a cancer in the Buds' dressing room. We suspect Kessel will be on his best behaviour when he reports to the Pens and we love the potential for him to bounce-back. Given that he has been one of the highest scoring wingers in the NHL over the last five seasons, Kessel is now a legitimate early second-round pick in hockey pools regardless of format.

Edmonton has locked up Andrej Sekera to a six-year deal.

His contract, which includes a no-move clause, has an annual average value of $5.5 million. Sekera was one of the top free agents out there and he'll see big minutes with the Oilers.

Francois Beauchemin has signed a three-year deal with the Colorado Avalanche.

Beauchemin will receive $13.5 million in the three years for a cap hit of $4.5 per. He will add a veteran presence to a young Avalanche blueline but do not expect a lot of stats as he is 35.

Mike Ribeiro has agreed to a two-year, $7 million contract with the Nashville Predators.

Nashville took a chance on Ribeiro last summer, inking him to a one-year, $1.05 million deal and it worked out for both sides. He scored 15 goals and 62 points in 82 contests, so this isn't a bad deal for the Predators.
Jul 1 - 11:10 AM

Kevin Bieksa has inked a two-year, $8 million extension.

Bieksa still has a season left on his five-year, $23 million deal. In other words, once his present contract experiences, his cap hit will actually go down. He had four goals, 14 points, and 77 penalty minutes in 60 contests with Vancouver in 2014-15.
Jul 1 - 9:53 AM

Artem Anisimov has reportedly sign a five-year, $22.75 million extension with the Chicago Blackhawks.

That's a $4.55 million annual cap hit. Anisimov will come with a roughly $3.3 million cap hit for the 2014-15 campaign though as he wraps up his existing three-year deal. He was acquired by the Blackhawks as part of the Brandon Saad trade. Anisimov had seven goals and 27 points in 52 contests in 2014-15.

Anthony Leblanc, Coyotes owner, and NHL deny team moving to Las Vegas.

The New York Post claimed two unidentified sources indicated the Coyotes were being sold to billionaire William Foley and moved to Las Vegas. However, when the story was published Tuesday evening, Bettman said the story "was garbage." Leblanc said the story was 'one hundred per cent false. There's no truth to it. I'm not an unidentified source, I'm a principal, so I think I should know." The Arizona Coyotes saga is very interesting to say the least.
