James Reimer (undisclosed) thinks he should be fine to play on Saturday if asked.

Reimer left Thursday's game due to a collision and Maple Leafs coach Randy Carlyle said he was dealing with a headache afterwards. That's troubling given Reimer's concussion history, but Reimer felt that he could have even continued playing on Thursday if the NHL's concussion protocols didn't force him out of the contest. He also practiced on Friday, so it looks like he dodged a bullet.

Mike Condon blocked 35 of 37 shots Wednesday night as the Ottawa Senators defeated the San Jose Sharks 4-2.

The reliever was playing in only his seventh game with the Senators after moving over from the Nashville Predators in early November and he has heated up the ice. In six complete games and a short stint against the Penguins on Monday night, he has recorded a save percentage of .945. On Wednesday, he logged a .946 and has been busy enough in most contests to bank a lot of points.
Dec 8 - 2:20 AM

John Gibson will be credited with a 6-5 victory by the Anaheim Ducks over the Carolina Hurricanes, but he gave up five goals on 34 shots Wednesday night.

That many goals against the Ducks’ netminder minimized his effectiveness as a fantasy asset. This was the first time in the past four games that he failed to crack the .900 mark, however, recording only an .853 Wednesday night. Owners might want to keep him on their radar screen.
Dec 8 - 1:59 AM

Corey Perry scored at the 17:32 minute to tie the Carolina Hurricanes late in the third in what eventually became a 6-5 win by the Anaheim Ducks Wednesday night.

Immediately after doing so, Perry heaved a huge sigh of relief. His goal is only the fifth of the season and it snapped an 18-game streak in which he failed to find the back of the net. He has remained fantasy relevant, however, with 14 assists in that same span of events.
Dec 8 - 1:45 AM

David Pastrnak scored a goal in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals.

The Bruins found themselves down 3-0 in the second period, but battled back to tie the game at three. Dominic Moore scored their first goal followed by Pastrnak and Colin Miller. Pastrnak continues to impress this season. He now has 16 goals and 22 points in 22 games. He's on pace to score 56 goals this season, but the odds of him hitting that number are slim. Still, he's been excellent. He's a must-start in all fantasy leagues.
Dec 7 - 11:41 PM

Justin Williams scored a pair of goals in Wednesday's 4-3 OT win over the Boston Bruins.

Williams scored the first two goals of the game in the first period. Daniel Winnik eventually gave Washington a 3-0 lead, but the Bruins managed to score three unanswered goals to force OT. In the extra frame, it was Capitals center Nicklas Backstrom that scored the game-winner. The offensive output doubled Williams' goal total for the season. The veteran winger has four goals and three assists in 25 games this season. Those numbers are disappointing by his standards.
Dec 7 - 11:38 PM

Eric Staal scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Wild never trailed in this game, as they jumped out to 2-0 and 3-1 leads in the game. Staal's had an up and down season, but for the most part, he's been a solid signing. He's picked up at least one point in five of his last seven games, and he's now up to six goals and 18 points in 25 games this season. Jason Zucker and Chris Stewart also found the back of the net for Minnesota tonight.
Dec 7 - 10:50 PM

Matt Niskanen (upper body) left Wednesday's contest and will not return.

Washington initially said that Niskanen would be back, but later stated that he's being held out for precautionary reasons. He was injured when Patrice Bergeron boarded him from behind.
Dec 7 - 10:05 PM

Rick Nash is projected to miss one week with a groin injury.

He was injured on Tuesday night against the Islanders. Nash has posted 11 goals and 18 points in 27 games this season.
Dec 7 - 6:47 PM

Alex Galchenyuk will be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks with a knee injury.

That's a big blow to the Canadiens, as Galchenyuk was enjoying a breakout season in 2016-17. He currently leads the team with nine goals and 23 points in 25 games.
Dec 7 - 6:04 PM

Antti Raanta will be between the pipes Thursday against Winnipeg.

Raanta was in goal for his first loss this season on Nov. 27 against Ottawa. He has a 5-1-0 record with a 2.20 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage in eight appearances this season. The Rangers play again on Friday at Chicago, so Henrik Lundqvist will likely start that contest.
Dec 7 - 4:01 PM

Bobby Ryan (finger) will get back into the lineup on Wednesday night.

He has been out of action since Nov. 29 due to a broken finger. Ryan has recorded just three goals and eight points in 21 games this season.
