Josh Leivo has been called up by Toronto.

He will travel with the Leafs to Columbus and could play if Joffrey Lupul's foot injury prevents him from being in the lineup. Leivo was just sent down on Wednesday.

Jaden Schwartz suffered a broken foot in Tuesday's 5-2 win over Los Angeles.

He sustained the injury when he blocked a shot by Kings defenseman Drew Doughty in the first period, but he stayed in the game. Schwartz is out indefinitely and he's been moved to injured reserve. "Hopefully he gets better and is ready to go sometime after Christmas," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We'll take a look at it on Monday." He has notched 11 goals and 27 points in 31 games this year.

Viktor Stalberg has been put on waivers by Nashville.

The Predators intend to send him to the minors if he clears. "A couple of injuries early in the season have prevented this from being the season Viktor trained all summer for," GM David Poile said. "He has worked hard to return to the lineup. With Paul Gaustad and Taylor Beck day-to-day and still on our 23-man roster, the best option for Viktor and the organization at this time is to place Viktor on waivers with the hope that he will clear, go to Milwaukee to play games and continue his efforts to be ready for NHL game action." Stalberg is ready to return after being sidelined for six weeks with a knee injury.

Sidney Crosby (mumps) will be a game-time decision for Thursday's match against Colorado.

He has missed Pittsburgh's last three games with the mumps, but was back on the ice for the team's game-day skate in the morning. We would consider Crosby probable to play.
Dec 18 - 12:01 PM

Marc-Andre Fleury has been confirmed as Pittsburgh's starting goaltender for Thursday night against Colorado.

It was feared that he had the mumps on Wednesday, but test results came back negative. Thomas Greiss is now being examined for the illness, so Fleury will get back in the cage.
Dec 18 - 11:53 AM

The Ottawa Senators have decided to loan Curtis Lazar to Canada for the World Junior Championship.

The 19-year-old forward has one goal and six assists in 27 games for the Senators this season. He'll be expected to play a prominent role at the tournament, especially after he registered three goals and seven points in seven games for Canada last year.
Dec 18 - 11:40 AM

Vincent Lecavalier is projected to return to the Flyers' lineup on Thursday.

Lecavalier has spent six of the Flyers' last seven contests in the press box and the one exception was when he was sidelined with a lower-body injury. Flyers coach Craig Berube suggested that he wouldn't simply put Lecavalier on the fourth line, although he didn't reveal exactly what role he'll have. One possibility is that Lecavalier will play alongside Sean Couturier and Matt Read while R.J. Umberger will be dropped to the fourth line.
Dec 18 - 11:24 AM

Marc-Andre Fleury has tested negative for the mumps, so he's been cleared to play Thursday night.

He's probable to start against Colorado because Thomas Greiss is being tested for the illness. It was initially thought that Greiss would play after Fleury was being examined for the mumps, but now the two of them have switched places.
Dec 18 - 10:36 AM

Kari Lehtonen made 27 saves in Dallas' 2-0 win over Vancouver on Wednesday.

Lehtonen was named the game's first star for his effort. The 31-year-old set the tone early when he robbed Canucks' forward Radim Vrbata 36 seconds into the game. Lehtonen made several big saves throughout the evening to ensure Dallas would collect the two points tonight. He has now won three of his last four starts and has a 12-7-5 record with a 2.97 goals-against-average and a .906 save percentage.
Dec 18 - 1:09 AM

Ottawa goalie Craig Anderson turned in a gem in New Jersey Wednesday night during a 2-0 shutout of the Devils.

Anderson made 34 saves. He nearly scored an empty-net goal, too. His shot from his own goal dribbled just wide to the right with 51.8 seconds remaining in the third period. With a second left in the third, Kyle Turris ended up with the empty-netter, his second goal of the game. Despite Turris' goals, however, it was the New Jersey offense that controlled most of the play in this one. The Sens were stuck in their zone for most of the game. The Devils (11-16-6) outshot Ottawa 34-16, but Anderson could not be beaten. It was his best performance of the season and improved his record to 7-8-4. His goals-against average is now 2.45 and his save percentage is .929.
Dec 17 - 9:58 PM

David Krejci will suit up for the Bruins on Wednesday against the Wild.

The Bruins center will be on the ice against the Wild Wednesday, so make sure to get him in your lineup. He was skating with Milan Lucic and Seth Griffith in warmups. In 11 games this season, Krejci has three goals and seven assists and will look to continue on his near point-per-game pace starting Wednesday. Matt Fraser will now move to the press box and serve as a healthy scratch to make room for Krejci.
Dec 17 - 7:49 PM

David Krejci (groin) isn't on injured reserve, according to Boston's official website.

Coach Claude Julien called Krejci a "possibility" for Wednesday's game against Minnesota and it looks like he could be back if taking him off injured reserve is any indication. The pregame warmup should tell us more. Krejci has missed 17 of Boston's last 19 games because of a groin injury.
