Aaron Rome has been sent down to the minors.

Rome had no points and six penalty minutes in three games during an AHL conditioning stint earlier this season. He was placed on waivers on Wednesday and cleared on Thursday, but wasn't immediately sent to the minors.

Anton Slepyshev has been sent to Bakersfield of the AHL.

Slepyshev was demoted so that the Oilers could take Adam Larsson off injured reserve. He has one goal and two assists in 15 games with the Oilers this season. Slepyshev has also skated in one contest with the Condors this year.

Shea Weber is going to be shut down for a bit because of a foot injury, according to coach Claude Julien.

Weber has been missing practices and playing games despite not being 100 percent. He will head back to Montreal for some rest. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Dec 18 - 3:03 PM

Patric Hornqvist (upper body) didn't skate Monday morning and won't play against Colorado.

Hornqvist has been sent back to Pittsburgh to be evaluated further. He earned his 21st point in 31 games on Saturday with an assist against Arizona. Consider him day-to-day for now.
Dec 18 - 2:20 PM

Adam Larsson (upper body) will be back in the lineup on Monday night.

Larsson has been sidelined since Nov. 28 due to an upper-body injury. He has four points, 90 hits and 52 blocks in 25 games this season. Feel free to get him back in your lineup if you normally would.
Dec 18 - 1:28 PM

T.J. Oshie (upper body) feels ready to return to the lineup.

Oshie and coach Barry Trotz did not confirm that he would be back on Tuesday against Dallas, but he is optimistic that he will play. He practiced fully on Monday alongside Evgeny Kuznetsov and Jakub Vrana. Oshie just needs clearance from doctors/trainers before it becomes official.
Dec 18 - 12:21 PM

Mika Zibanejad (concussion) could be a possibility to play Tuesday night.

Zibanejad returned to practice on Monday. He skated with regular linemates Pavel Buchnevich and Chris Kreider during the session as well as logged time on the top power-play unit. Zibanejad has missed the last nine games with a concussion, but a return appears to be very close.

There was no word as to the severity of the foot injury suffered by rookie sensation Brock Boeser Sunday.

Boeser was forced to leave the game after his first shift of the second period when he blocked a shot with his foot and crawled to the bench, unable to put any weight on his foot. The bad news is that Boeser was seen after the game in a walking boot as well as crutches. It does not look good for the rookie who leads all first-year players with 17 goals and 30 points in 31 games. Stay tuned.
Dec 18 - 8:43 AM

Tomas Hertl will replace the injured Logan Couture at center on the second line Monday.

Couture is out with a concussion and will not play Monday and probably a lot longer than that. Hertl was between Mikkel Boedker and Kevin Labanc in practice as Boedker took over Hertl's spot on the wing. Hertl has seven goals and 18 points in 31 games but has not hit the scoresheet in the last two games.
Dec 18 - 8:22 AM

Erik Johnson has been suspended for two games by the NHL for boarding Tampa Bay's Vladislav Namestnikov.

Johnson gave Namestnikov a hard slash while chasing the forward, who was rushing towards the net, and then pushed him hard into the boards. Johnson amassed 17 minutes in penalties on the play.
Dec 17 - 10:21 PM

Brock Boeser left Sunday's game against Calgary with a foot injury.

Boeser took a snapshot off the foot and could not put any weight on it afterwards. He crawled to the bench and was ruled out for the rest of the game. Hopefully, the injury to the talented rookie isn't severe because the Canucks are already missing Bo Horvat and Sven Baertschi due to long-term injuries.
Dec 17 - 10:04 PM

Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 24 shots directed his way by the Blues on Sunday night for a 4-0 shutout win.

Avenging Saturday night's shutout loss to St. Louis, the Jets rebounded thanks in large part to Hellebuyck. The 24-year-old's second shutout of the season improves his record to 17-4-4 this season with a 2.45 goals against average and .920 save percentage.
