Brett Connolly has been called up by the Tampa Bay Lightning.

GM Steve Yzerman said the team has no plans to send anyone down and there doesn't appear to be any injuries on the club. "We're trying to find the right fits, the right line combinations," Yzerman said. Connolly has suited up in one game with the Bolts this season.

David Perron will indeed play against the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night.

Originally though to be too sick to play, Perron instead will take his place on Sidney Crosby's wing. Perron's potted 12 goals, 21 points, 40 PIMs, and 84 hits through 36 games with the Penguins. He has 17 goals, 40 points, 60 PIMs, and 158 hits through 74 games with the Oilers and now Penguins.

Alex Ovechkin scored a pair of goals in Washington's 5-2 win over the New York Rangers.

Ovechkin opened the scoring at the 4:32 mark of the first period and his second goal tied the game at two in the second period. Ovechkin has proved that he is still one of the premiere snipers in the game. He has 49 goals and 75 points in 75 games this season. Jason Chimera (twice) and Marcus Johansson also scored for Washington.

Shea Weber isn't expected to be in the lineup for Sunday's game against Calgary.

Weber suffered a lower-body injury earlier in the week and it forced him to miss Saturday's tilt against Washington. The 29-year-old is having an incredible season and he's arguable the favorite to win the Norris Trophy this season. Weber has 15 goals and 45 points in 75 games in 2014-15.

David Perron is doubtful for Sunday's game against San Jose according to head coach Mike Johnston

Perron missed Saturday's game against Arizona because of an illness and it looks like it will cost him a second game on Sunday.

Kris Letang is out of hospital but he has a concussion.

Letang went awkwardly into the boards when hit by Shane Doan. Do not expect him back in the regular season which only has two weeks to go and his readiness for the playoffs is definitely up in the air as he has had concussion issues in the past.

Kris Letang was expected to spend the night in hospital after being knocked into the boards by Shane Doan Saturday.

Letang went awkwardly into the boards and there is no update at this time. "It's awful," Doan said. "When it happened, I could tell right away he went into the boards awkwardly. He's so good, you can't let him jump by you. I wanted to get a piece of him so he couldn't jump by me. We have to finish our checks on him. I didn't mean to hit him like that. You never want to see that, especially a guy of his caliber and everything he's been through the past few years." We will update you as soon as there is any word on his status but hopefully he is just under observation and will get released today.

The New York Rangers have not had a power play opportunity in two games and only one in the last three contests.

It must be frustrating to the Rangers that the opposition is playing so cleanly. The Rangers will get an opportunity on Sunday once again to get the occasional man-advantage.

Jonas Hiller will get the start between the pipes for Calgary on Sunday.

Hiller replaced Karri Ramo on Friday and now Bob Hartley will give him the start against the Predators. Hiller is 21-18-4 this season with a 2.44 GAA and a .914 save percentage. The Flames are in ninth place in the West so this is a very important game.

Tyler Seguin recorded a goal and an assist as the Stars edged the Canucks on Saturday night 4-3 in overtime.

Seguin also had six shots on goal and a minor penalty in 20:40. The 23-year-old has 34 goals and 69 points this season, which is even more amazing when you consider he's played in only 66 games. John Klingberg got the game winner with 37 seconds left in overtime. Jamie Benn and Patrick Eaves notched the other markers. Trevor Daley and Cody Eakin each tallied two helpers.
Mar 29 - 1:02 AM

Matt Duchene registered a goal and two assists as the Avalanche defeated the Sabres on Saturday night 5-3.

Fantasy owners (and the Avalanche) expected bigger things from Duchene after he scored 23 times and tallied 70 points last season. This year, he has 19 goals and 50 points, so he has been a major disappointment for those who took him high in drafts. Tyson Barrie, Marc-Andre Cliche and Brad Stuart scored the other goals. Jarome Iginla had three assists.
Mar 28 - 11:52 PM

Alexander Steen suffered a lower-body injury Saturday night.

Steen played 3:04 before departing in the first period after he collided knee-on-knee with Cody Goloubef. He had two shots on goal. Steen has enjoyed another fine season, with 24 goals and 62 points, which is tied for his career high.
