Daniel Sedin has inked a four-year/$28 million contract extension with the Vancouver Canucks.

Daniel's twin brother Henrik Sedin agreed to a matching contract. They turned 33 in September, so this deal will take them well past their prime, but they certainly haven't slowed down yet. Daniel has six goals, 15 points, and 22 penalty minutes in 15 games this season. He should reach the 30-goal mark in 2013-14.

Johnny Gaudreau, Sean Monahan and Lance Bouma might be scratched Tuesday night for disciplinary reasons, according to reports.

That would knock out two-thirds of the top line if Gaudreau and Monahan were held out of the lineup. The Flames may play against Toronto with 11 forwards and seven defensemen. Stay tuned for more on this as the story develops.

Darcy Kuemper will be in the crease for Minnesota on Tuesday versus Dallas.

His last start came on Jan. 23 when he dropped a 4-3 decision to the San Jose Sharks. Kuemper hasn't played much this season, but he has a 2.06 goals-against average and a .928 save percentage in 13 appearances.

Evgeni Malkin (lower body) will not play this week, according to coach Mike Sullivan.

That means he won't play Wednesday against the Rangers and on Friday at Carolina. Malkin isn't expected to play in Florida next Monday either. He will focus on working with the Penguins' training and medical staff to recover from a lower-body injury. Malkin hasn't practiced since last Wednesday.

Dion Phaneuf has been traded to the Ottawa Senators in a nine-player deal.

The Senators also acquired Matt Frattin, Casey Bailey, Ryan Rupert and Cody Donaghey from Toronto in exchange for Jared Cowen, Colin Greening, Milan Michalek, Tobias Lindberg and Ottawa's second-round pick in the 2017 NHL Draft.

Aleksander Barkov isn't expected to play Tuesday after he left Monday's game with an upper-body injury.

It's believed that he was tested for a concussion when he exited the contest, but Florida hasn't provided details on the ailment other than to say it's an upper-body issue. It's unclear how long he will be sidelined for, but he will be missed. The Panthers lost six of 10 games when Barkov was sidelined with a broken bone in his hand earlier this season.

There is currently no timetable for the return of Mike Cammalleri from a hand injury.

Cammalleri missed his fourth game in a row with the injury and after the game coach John Hynes told everyone the news. "You could call it week to week or day to day," Hynes said. We’re just trying to see how it goes every three or four days, if there’s improvement. We’re planning on him being back at some point hopefully soon but there’s no set timetable." Stay tuned as Cammalleri has 14 goals and 38 points in 42 games.

Detroit Red Wings goalie Petr Mrazek notched his fourth shutout of the season in a 3-0 victory over the visiting Florida Panthers Monday night.

Mrazek made 23 saves. He improved his overall record to 20-10-4. His goals-against average dropped to under 2.00, at 1.97. He started the night with a 2.03 GAA. Mrazek also has an impressive save percentage of .933. He's probably the Red Wings' most-valuable player this season and has blossomed into one of the NHL's premier netminders. He is, of course, a fantasy keeper.

Forward Mark Stone continued his offensive surge Monday night, scoring two goals and adding an assist in the Ottawa Senators' 5-1 slaughter of the visiting Tampa Bay Lightning.

Stone has scored in four consecutive games. After 52 games, he has 16 goals and 40 points. Stone set up Zack Smith to open the scoring in this one at 5:23 of the first period. Smith's goal was his 11th of the season. The Sens increased their lead to 2-0 on an unassisted goal by Shane Prince (third) at 16:51 of the first. Stone then popped in his two goals in the second period to increase Ottawa's lead to 4-1. Jean-Gabriel Pageau closed the Sens' scoring with his 13th goal of the season. It was unassisted, at 15:22 of the third period. Pageau also recorded a three-point night, chipping in with his ninth and 10th assists of the season on Stone's goals.

Veteran Pavel Datsyuk scored two goals as the Detroit Red Wings shut out the visiting Florida Panthers 3-0 Monday night.

Datsyuk has been pretty hot lately. He notched two assists in a 5-1 win over the Islanders last Saturday. On the season, he has eight goals. Henrik Zetterberg assisted on both of Datsyuk's goals. Zetterberg now has 27 assists on the season. Datsyuk has seven goals. Tomas Tartar had Detroit's first goal Monday. He now has 16 on the season.

Sidney Crosby continued his red-hot streak Monday night by producing two goals and two assists in the Pittsburgh Penguins' 6-2 rout of the visiting Anaheim Ducks.

Crosby also finished the game with a plus-4. The 28-year-old superstar has recorded 22 points in his past 11 games. He has now scored goals in a career-high seven consecutive games. He has notched three or more points in three of his past four games. On the season, he has 24 goals and 29 assists. The Pens never trailed Monday. They were ahead 3-1 after one period on goals by Chris Kunitz (10th), Conor Sheary (third) and Carl Hagelin (fifth). Crosby made it 4-1 on an unassisted goal at 15:01 of the second period and lifted the Pens to a 5-2 lead on his second goal of the night at 3:35 of the third. Olli Maatta scored Pittsburgh's sixth goal of the game at 6:47 of the third. Defenseman Kris Letang had two assists to give him 31 on the season.
