Martin St. Louis powered the Rangers past the Flyers by a score of 4-1 on Tuesday night with a goal and an assist.

St. Louis deflected Dan Girardi's point shot past Ray Emery in the second period, and the goal stood up to be the winner. The Rangers steamrolled the Flyers much like they did at home in Game 1. St. Louis has put his post-trade struggles behind him and is riding a five game point streak where he has two goals and seven assists.

Tuukka Rask fueled the gritty Bruins past Detroit 3-0 on Tuesday night by stopping all 23 shots directed his way.

Rask has allowed just two goals through the first three games of the series so far. He has a 2-1 record in the playoffs so far with a whopping .976 save percentage and 0.67 goals against average. Rask and the Bruins will hope to make it a 3-1 series lead on Thursday in Detroit. Meanwhile, the Wings and Bruins learned they are playing for the right to face Montreal in Round 2, as the Habs disposed of the Lightning earlier in the evening in four straight games.

Carey Price made 20 saves on 23 shots as the Habs beat Tampa Bay 4-3 in Game 4 to sweep the Bolts and advance to the second round of the playoffs on Tuesday night.

Price does not have dazzling numbers these playoffs, with just a .912 save percentage and 2.50 goals against average, but none of that matters. The 26 year-old is 4-0 and has his team through to the next round. Price and the Habs will take at least a week off before facing off against the winner of the Detroit - Boston series.

Max Pacioretty chose a fine time to score his first goal of the playoffs, beating Kristers Gudlevskis in the final minute of Game 4 to put the Habs up 4-3 and complete the sweep of the Tampa Bay Lightning.

The Bolts overcame a two goal deficit to tie the game midway through the third period, thanks in part to Gudlevskis' strong play in relief of Anders Lindback. But Cedric Paquette's tripping penalty with just over two minutes remaining gave the Habs a chance to redeem themselves, and Pacioretty did just that. He slid a slow shot through the five hole to help Montreal advance to the second round. The Habs will have more than a few days off as they await the completion of the Detroit - Boston series.

Steve Mason (upper body) is healthy enough to serve as Philadelphia's backup goaltender on Tuesday.

Ray Emery will still start for the Flyers. With Mason back, Emery will be on a shorter leash, but Emery's been solid thus far and it wouldn't be surprising if Philadelphia ran with him until he gives them a reason to do otherwise.
Apr 22 - 5:25 PM

Vincent Lecavalier is projected to center the second line in Game 3 on Tuesday.

Lecavalier averaged just 8:24 minutes of ice time in the Flyers' first two games of the 2014 playoffs. He didn't live up to expectations during the regular season, but he's still a major offensive threat. His linemates will likely be Brayden Schenn and Wayne Simmonds.

Steve Downie (upper body) is officially out "indefinitely" as opposed to day-to-day.

It's believed that Downie's upper-body injury is actually a concussion. He previously suffered one in November and Frank Seravalli's sources believe that his current symptoms stem from that injury. If that's the case, then Downie played through the head injury for the better part of the season, which would be a troubling and disturbing revelation to say the least.

Daniel Alfredsson is dealing with a back injury.

Alfredsson will miss Game 3 of Detroit's playoff series against Boston as a result. He previously was unavailable for the Red Wings' regular season finale and six games in January due to back issues. He had no points or shots on goal in two playoff contests, but he has traditionally been great in the postseason with 100 points in 123 career games.

Ryan O'Reilly is one of the three finalists for the Lady Byng Trophy.

Patrick Marleau and Martin St. Louis are the other nominees. The Lady Byng Trophy rewards "sportsmanship and gentlemanly conduct" married with a "high standard of playing ability." What that typically translates to is a player that gets a lot of points while ending up with very few penalty minutes. By that standard, O'Reilly seems like a good bet to win the award after recording 64 points and just two penalty minutes in 80 games. He is only the second player in NHL history to record two or less PIM while playing in at least 80 contests with the other being Lady Byng winner Butch Goring in 1977-78.

It sounds like Anton Belov's decision to leave Edmonton was at least partially inspired by a desire to get away from coach Dallas Eakins.

Belov signed with the KHL's SKA St. Petersburg. "There is no one reason that made it an abrupt change," said Belov, per Sovetsky Sports. "It was all building up during the season, especially more so after the Olympics. And the hire of coach (Vyacheslav) Bykov (at SKA) was also an influence. The other point is that I could have re-signed with Edmonton, but I didn't want to stay with that coach." Eakins came under fire for the Oilers' underwhelming performance in his first season as the team's bench boss, but he is still expected to return for the 2014-15 campaign.

Stephane Robidas suffered a broken right leg during Monday's game against Dallas.

Robidas will miss the rest of the playoffs as a result. This is a very unfortunate setback for everyone involved. Robidas logged a little over 20 minutes for the Ducks in Games 1 and 2 of their first round series against Dallas, which highlights how much Anaheim has come to rely on him since he was acquired from the Stars in March. At the age of 37, it's also possible that this is bringing an end to Robidas' last postseason run.
