Eric Staal scored the game-winning goal in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Wild never trailed in this game, as they jumped out to 2-0 and 3-1 leads in the game. Staal's had an up and down season, but for the most part, he's been a solid signing. He's picked up at least one point in five of his last seven games, and he's now up to six goals and 18 points in 25 games this season. Jason Zucker and Chris Stewart also found the back of the net for Minnesota tonight.
Dec 7 - 10:50 PM

Matt Niskanen (upper body) left Wednesday's contest and will not return.

He was injured on Tuesday night against the Islanders. Nash has posted 11 goals and 18 points in 27 games this season.

Alex Galchenyuk will be sidelined for six-to-eight weeks with a knee injury.

That's a big blow to the Canadiens, as Galchenyuk was enjoying a breakout season in 2016-17. He currently leads the team with nine goals and 23 points in 25 games.
Dec 7 - 6:04 PM

Antti Raanta will be between the pipes Thursday against Winnipeg.

Raanta was in goal for his first loss this season on Nov. 27 against Ottawa. He has a 5-1-0 record with a 2.20 goals-against average and a .931 save percentage in eight appearances this season. The Rangers play again on Friday at Chicago, so Henrik Lundqvist will likely start that contest.

He has been out of action since Nov. 29 due to a broken finger. Ryan has recorded just three goals and eight points in 21 games this season.

He had a minor surgical procedure on Saturday to remove one of the screws in his ankle that had been bothering him. Dec 7 - 11:56 AM

Jimmy Howard (groin) has been taken off injured reserve.

Howard is ready to return to the fold after suffering a groin injury on Nov. 25. Petr Mrazek has played well during his absence, so a battle for starts could be on the horizon.

Dec 7 - 2:05 AM

Marian Hossa has played with five teams in his illustrious career, and now has made his indelible mark on two team's record books.

Hossa spent the first seven years of his career in Ottawa, scoring 188 goals and 390 points. Now into his eighth campaign with Chicago, Hossa has matched that point total after his 173rd and 174th goals of his time with the Blackhawks during Tuesday's 4-0 win over Arizona. He only needed 21 extra games to reach the mark, too. It won't be long now until Hossa reaches 400 points with a single team now, which deserves its own celebration.
