Saku Koivu (head) appears ready to return to the Anaheim Ducks' lineup, quite possibly for their game tonight in Pittsburgh.

The veteran center has been sidelined for 10 games because of suspected concussion-like symptoms after being knocked unconscious briefly during an Oct. 27 game at Columbus, but he participated in the Ducks' high-paced practice on Sunday and may be back to face the Pens.

Martin Jones was pulled during Thursday's 7-0 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights.

Jones was terrific during the Sharks' first-round series against the Anaheim Ducks, but this is a night he'll want to forget. After allowing just four goals in five games against the Ducks, he allowed five goals on 13 shots on Thursday night. He lasted just 23:26 before being replaced by Aaron Dell, who allowed two more goals on 21 shots. Jones now owns a 4-1 record with a 2.05 goals-against-average and a .938 save percentage during the postseason. The Sharks trail 1-0 in this best-of-seven series.

Evander Kane was given a five-minute major and a game misconduct for cross-checking Golden Knights forward Pierre-Edouard Bellemare in the head.

Kane allowed his frustrations to get the better of him, as he delivered the cross-check in the third period of a game his team was trailing 5-0 at the time. The Golden Knights ended up scoring two more goals during the Kane penalty (one of the two was scored on a 5-on-3 man-advantage). There's a good chance Kane will hear from the NHL's Department of Players Safety. You can watch the incident by clicking the link below.

Connor McDavid has been selected as a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award.

McDavid took home the award last year. He finished the regular season with 41 goals and a league high 108 points in 82 games. The 21-year-old hasn't received much Hart Trophy buzz this season, but that's mainly because his team didn't make the playoffs. Colorado's Nathan MacKinnon and New Jersey's Taylor Hall were the other two nominees for the Lindsay Award.

Nico Hischier went through the whole season with a chronic wrist/hand injury.

That makes the fact that Hischier scored 20 goals and 52 points in 82 games as a rookie all the more impressive. He's going to have the area immobilized for the next two-to-four weeks, but if that's the extent of what he needs, then this shouldn't impact his summer training.

Flyers GM Ron Hextall is hoping to re-sign Valtteri Filppula.

Filppula is set to become an unrestricted free agent after completing his five-year, $25 million contract. He had 11 goals and 33 points in 81 contests in 2017-18. Filppula is the only pending UFA that Hextall has informed that he'd like to re-sign, though we imagine that the Flyers are looking to sign him at a reduced rate compared to his previous contract.
