Zac Rinaldo is expected to be out for six weeks because of a high-ankle sprain.

He scored his first goal of the season in Wednesday's win over the Montreal Canadiens, but now he'll head to the sidelines. Rinaldo didn't appear to be hurt after the game, so the injury comes as a bit of a surprise. Look elsewhere for your penalty minutes.

Pekka Rinne stopped all 27 shots he faced in a 4-0 win over St. Louis on Sunday in matinee action.

Rinne has won three games in a row and he has allowed just three goals during that stretch. He has a 13-2-1 record with a 1.92 goals-against average, a .937 save percentage and three shutouts since the start of 2018.

Patrice Bergeron will play against Buffalo on Sunday.

Bergeron is listed in Boston's starting lineup between regular linemates Brad Marchand and David Pastrnak. He was seen in walking boot after Saturday's game versus Toronto, but playing through injuries is nothing new for the talented two-way center.

Evander Kane will be a healthy scratch again Sunday.

Kane didn't play on Saturday against Washington either with the trade deadline set for Monday. There have been rumblings that he may be moved as early as today following the deal that sent Rick Nash from the Rangers to Boston.

Chris Kelly has reportedly agreed to a contract with the Anaheim Ducks for the remainder of the 2017-18 season.

Kelly's new deal is worth a pro-rated $1.25 million plus bonuses. Kelly earned a bronze medal with Canada at the 2018 Winter Olympics. He also picked up two assists in 16 games with the AHL's Belleville Senators this year.
Feb 25 - 4:06 PM

Al Montoya will be in goal for Sunday's match versus Anaheim.

Montoya will get the nod in the second half of Edmonton's back-to-back situation. He last appeared in a game on Feb. 10 when he allowed five goals on 29 shots to San Jose. Montoya has a 1-1-1 record with the Oilers along with a 2.73 goals-against average and .895 save percentage.
Feb 25 - 3:25 PM

Rick Nash said he will make his Boston debut in Sunday's game against Buffalo.

Nash was acquired from the Rangers on Sunday morning. It's believed that he will play alongside David Krejci and Jake DeBrusk on the second line, but Patrice Bergeron's injury status may change that.
Feb 25 - 3:16 PM

Brian Gionta has signed a one-year, one-way contract with the Boston Bruins worth $700,000.

Gionta's new deal will cover the remainder of the 2017-18 season. He was Team USA's captain at the 2018 Winter Olympic Games. Gionta also had one goal in one game for Rochester of the AHL this season in a tuneup before heading to Pyeongchang, South Korea. The 39-year-old winger posted 15 goals and 35 points in 82 games with Buffalo last campaign.
Feb 25 - 1:06 PM

Mark Letestu has been traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in a three-team deal.

Letestu was sent from Edmonton to Nashville in exchange for forward Pontus Aberg and then flipped to Columbus for a fourth-round pick in the 2018 NHL Draft. Letestu has eight goals and 19 points in 60 games this season. He is eligible for unrestricted free agency in the summer and will provide some depth down the middle for Columbus, where he played for parts of four seasons before going into the Oilers in 2015-16.

The Ottawa Senators have placed Alex Burrows on waivers.

Burrows is still serving his 10-game suspension for kneeing Taylor Hall in the head, but he's eligible to return to the lineup on Mar. 2. Still, it's unlikely that anyone will be willing to him off Ottawa's hands because he's not productive and he still has one year remaining on his contract that comes with a cap hit of $2.5 million. Burrows has three goals and five assists in 51 games this season.
Feb 25 - 12:06 PM

The Toronto Maple Leafs have acquired Tomas Plekanec from the Montreal Canadiens.

The Leafs sent forward Kerby Rychel, defenseman Rinat Valiev and their 2018 second-round pick to Montreal for Plekanec and Kyle Baun. The Canadiens will be retaining 50 percent of Plekanec's remaining salary. The 35-year-old doesn't have the offensive ability he once had, but he's still capable of playing a shut-down role against the opposition's best forwards. He has six goals and 24 points in 60 games this season. Plekanec will be an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
Feb 25 - 11:45 AM

The Minnesota Wild have placed Chris Stewart on waivers.

Stewart hasn't hit the 20-goal mark since he scored 28 goals with Colorado and St. Louis back in 2010-11. He has just nine goals and four assists in 47 games with the Wild this season. Stewart has also served as a healthy scratch on several occasions since the start of the 2018. He's scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of the season, so it's entirely possible that a team decides to claim him.
