Ryan Getzlaf (lower body) will return to the Anaheim Ducks' lineup on Wednesday.

Getzlaf blocked a shot with his foot during Saturday's contest and missed Sunday's game as a result. He has 23 goals and 53 points in 44 games this season.

Sean Couturier (lower body) scored the game-winning goal with 75 seconds remaining in regulation in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at Pittsburgh.

Couturier was able to start after an injury in practice caused him to miss Game 4, but he was not in his usual spot on the team's top scoring line for Game 5. He was able to tough it out through injury and net the game-winner. It appears he'll be fine for Sunday's elimination game against the Penguins.
Apr 20 - 9:59 PM

Claude Giroux opened the scoring in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at Pittsburgh on Friday for his first goal of the series.

The 102-point scorer during the regular season had been nearly shut down offensively in the first four contests of the series, posting just one assist with a dismal minus-7 rating. He was paired with Valtteri Filppula and Jakub Voracek on the top line, as Sean Couturier was moved out, and the newly formed trio accounted for two goals and five points in the important elimination game win.
Apr 20 - 9:52 PM

Michal Neuvirth received the nod in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals against the Pittsburgh Penguins and he stopped 30 of 32 shots to pick up the win.

Neuvirth supplanted Brian Elliott for this elimination game and he helped his heavy underdog Philly side to a road victory to force a Game 6 at home in the City of Brotherly Love. He had a key save at point blank range late in the third period against Sidney Crosby, making a highlight-reel save. There has been no confirmation officially, since the game just ended, but it's obviously hard to believe Neuvirth wouldn't be back between the pipes for Game 6 on Sunday at 3:00pm ET on NBC.
Apr 20 - 9:46 PM

Samuel Girard will be back in the lineup for Game 5 against the Nashville Predators.

Girard missed the last three games because of an upper-body injury. He played in over 22 minutes in the first game of this series. The Avs need to win if they want to stay alive.
Apr 20 - 9:29 PM

Joel Armia suffered an upper-body injury during Game 5 against Minnesota on Friday night.

Armia scored in the first period, but he exited the game sometime after that. The Jets have already announced that he won't be returning tonight. The team will likely provide an update on his status after the game.
Apr 20 - 8:57 PM

Nikolaj Ehlers won't play in Friday's game against the Minnesota Wild.

Ehlers is not on the ice for the pre-game warmup, which means he won't be in the lineup tonight. It's unclear why he's being held out of the lineup, but he's probably just dealing with an undisclosed injury. He's considered day-to-day at this point.
Apr 20 - 7:12 PM

Sean Couturier (lower body) is expected to be in the lineup for Game 5 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Couturier missed Game 4 after colliding with Radko Gudas during practice. The Flyers forward is centering Scott Laughton and Wayne Simmonds during the pre-game warmup.
Apr 20 - 6:42 PM

Ryan O’Reilly has been selected as one of the nominees for the Lady Byng Trophy.

The Sabres had a disappointing year, but O’Reilly managed to put up a respectable 24 goals and 61 points in 81 games this season. He also racked up just two penalty minutes in 2017-18. Vegas’ William Karlsson and Florida’s Aleksander Barkov are the other two nominees for the Lady Byng Award.

Michal Neuvirth will get the start in Game 5 against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Brian Elliott started the first four games of the series, but the Flyers are going in a different direction now that they're down 3-1 in the best-of-seven series. The 30-year-old had a 9-7-3 record with a 2.60 goals-against-average and a .915 save percentage during the regular season.
Apr 20 - 6:32 PM

Andre Burakovsky will undergo minor surgery for his upper-body injury.

Burakovsky will miss the remainder of the first round as a result. He might be able to return later in the playoffs if the Capitals advance beyond the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Apr 20 - 1:43 PM

Sean Couturier (lower body) plans on being in Friday's pregame warmups.

Couturier is hoping to be able to play, but it sounds like he'll be a game-time decision. He skated on his own Wednesday and Thursday before joining the Flyers for their Friday morning skate.
