Ryan Callahan had a follow-up procedure on his ailing hip Tuesday and he is out indefinitely.

He has been limited to just 18 games this season and hasn't played since Jan. 7. Callahan missed the first eight matches of the year while recovering from off-season hip surgery and the ailment has continued to bother him. It wouldn't be surprising if he didn't play again this season, but that hasn't been determined yet.

James Reimer will get the nod again for the Panthers on Wednesday against Edmonton.

Reimer has been outstanding lately, while posting a 5-0-0 record with a 1.44 goals-against average and a .948 save percentage in his last six games. That includes five starts. He made 26 stops in a 2-1 win over St. Louis on Monday.
Feb 22 - 3:08 PM

Erik Johnson (broken fibula) expects to return to the lineup on Saturday.

He has been sidelined since Dec. 3, but participated fully in Wednesday's practice. Johnson has 11 points in 23 games this season.
Feb 22 - 2:22 PM

Jeff Zatkoff has been placed on waivers.

The Kings appear to be preparing for Jonathan Quick's return to the lineup, but this doesn't mean it's imminent. Zatkoff has played in just 13 games this season, while posting a 2-7-1 record with a 2.95 goals-against average and an .879 save percentage.
Feb 22 - 12:28 PM

Mitch Marner (upper body) has already been ruled out for Thursday's game against the New York Rangers.

In some encouraging news, Marner was on the ice Wednesday morning with some teammates and he didn't appear to be having any issues. A return on Saturday could be a possibility. Marner will miss his fourth straight game on Thursday with what is believed to be a shoulder injury.
Feb 22 - 12:23 PM

Trevor Daley suffered a lower-body injury during Tuesday's contest.

Daley has five goals and 19 points in 54 contests in 2016-17. The severity of the injury wasn't immediately known. The Penguins were already missing defensemen Justin Schultz and Olli Maatta, so missing Daley for any period of time would put significant strain on Pittsburgh.
Feb 22 - 5:26 AM

Pavel Zacha sustained a possible head injury during Tuesday's game.

Zacha crashed head-first into the boards due to a check from Ottawa's Derick Brassard. Zacha left the game and the Devils didn't offer an update afterwards, other than to say he had an upper-body injury. He'll be re-evaluated on Wednesday, so we might have more information in the near future. The rookie has eight goals and 16 points in 52 contests this season.
Feb 22 - 5:04 AM

Filip Forsberg scored a hat trick in Tuesday's 6-5 OT loss to the Calgary Flames.

The Predators found themselves down 4-1 early in the second period, but they managed to fight their way back into the game thanks to three goals from Forsberg and one from Colin Wilson. Forsberg scored both the game-tying goal (4-4) and the go-ahead marker (5-4), but it wasn't enough to propel his team to victory. Forsberg has 19 goals and 39 points in 59 games this season.
Feb 22 - 12:33 AM

Johnny Gaudreau registered four assists in Calgary's 6-5 OT win over the Nashville Predators on Tuesday.

Three of his four assists were of the primary variety. Gaudreau helped set up goals by Micheal Ferland (twice), Dougie Hamilton and Mark Giordano (game-winning goal). Johnny Hockey finished the game with a plus-2 rating, two shots on goal and a takeaway in 19:56 of ice time. The Flames forward also put his four-game pointless streak to bed in the process. He has 11 goals and 28 assists in 50 games this season.
Feb 22 - 12:11 AM

Mikael Granlund scored a pair of goals in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.

The Wild's second line of Granlund, Mikko Koivu and Jason Zucker continued being productive tonight, as they combined to score four points in the loss. As good as they've been, they were no match for 'Hawks captain Jonathan Toews' five-point night. Granlund scored both his goals on the power play, as his first one tied the game at one in the second period, while his second cut his team's deficit to 4-3 in the third. Granlund has five points in his last three games and he's up to 19 goals and 55 points in 59 games this season.
Feb 21 - 11:54 PM

Jonathan Toews picked up an incredible three goals and two assists in Tuesday's 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild.

That's some kind of performance from the 'Hawks captain, as he was directly involved in every one of Chicago's goals. To make his night even more impressive, both of his assists were of the primary variety. He finished the game with a plus-5 rating and four shots on goal in 19:45 of ice time. Toews has been red-hot since late-December and it doesn't look like he's going to be slowing down anytime soon. He's now picked up nine points during his current four-game point streak and he's scored at least one point in seven of his last eight contests. He's up to 15 goals and 42 points in 51 games this season.
