Bob McKenzie suggests that P.K. Subban will be in the lineup for Team Canada Friday when they take on Austria.

Subban was a healthy scratch for Thursday's 3-1 win over Norway, but could play his way into the lineup permanently with a strong showing in his first Olympic game. It's expected that Vancouver blueliner Dan Hamhuis will watch from the press box to make room for Subban against Austria.

Jonathan Drouin missed Tampa Bay’s scrimmage on Sunday as he is dealing with an upper-body injury.

Drouin is believed to be dealing with a hand injury. The 19-year-old is listed as day-to-day. The injury shouldn’t affect Drouin’s availability to play in preseason games. "He’ll be in exhibition games," said Lightning head coach Jon Cooper. "I’m not sure about scrimmages, but in exhibition games for sure." The Lightning play their first preseason game at home against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday night.

Steven Stamkos missed Sunday’s scrimmage and is questionable to play in Monday’s scrimmage.

Stamkos broke his leg last November and had to remove a screw in his right tibia bone last month. "We’ve got a plan for him and we don’t want to [rush him]," said Lightning head coach Jon Cooper. "We want to make sure that when we are getting down to the nuts and bolts of our team that he is going to be able to play." He’s able to play now, we just want to see other guys. We know what he can do." It sounds like Tampa Bay is just being cautious with their superstar.

Boone Jenner left Sunday's preseason game against the St. Louis Blues.

"We’re managing him," said Blue Jackets head coach Todd Richards. According to Richards, Jenner was dealing with some soreness. The injury doesn’t appear to be serious. We’ll update you as more information is made available.

Jarrett Stoll hopes to play in at least one game during the preseason.

Stoll had surgery during the off-season to repair a chip and labrum tear in his hip. The 32-year-old believes he suffered the injury during last year’s Western Conference final against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Bobby Ryan had his "bell rung" during Sunday's scrimmage.

Ryan isn't experiencing concussion symptoms, but won't play in Monday's preseason game as a precaution. As we mentioned before, the stakes are low right now so it's completely feasible that the Senators are simply deciding to err heavily on the side of caution. After all, they have nothing to lose by keeping Ryan out of the preseason contest. That being said, head injuries are tricky and sometimes a player's outlook will be optimistic initially, but turn sour quickly. Hopefully that won't be the case here.

Bobby Ryan has suffered an undisclosed injury during Ottawa's scrimmage on Sunday.

Ryan exited the game in the second period and will be held out of the remainder of the contest as a precaution. This scrimmage means very little to Ottawa and even less to Ryan, whose position on the team isn't in question. With that in mind, it wouldn't be shocking to discover they decided to shut him down over the mildest of injuries. Unfortunately, we don't know that for a fact as Ottawa didn't specify the nature of Ryan's problem and sometimes the word precautionary gets thrown around for injuries that turn out to be significant. With that in mind, it's worth keeping an eye on this situation, even if it's too early to worry.

Ryan Johansen has gotten "several" KHL offers over the last two months, according to his agent.

CSKA Moscow GM Sergei Fedorov recently denied a report that he made Johansen a one-year, $5 million offer, but it wouldn't be surprising if other KHL teams had made an attempt to sign Johansen. The 22-year-old forward isn't likely to bolt to the KHL despite his impasse with Columbus.

Roberto Luongo is excited to see how the Florida Panthers will progress this season.

"I’m excited to be here at this time of year. I’m definitely excited about the team; [I] like the veteran players we brought in," said Luongo. "Last year, when I got here, I was just excited to be here. I didn’t care what the team’s record was. I knew I was coming in for the future, and I’m excited to see how we progress." After having been acquired from the Vancouver Canucks last season, Luongo is entering his first training camp with the Panthers since 2005. The 35-year-old went 25-23-7 last season with a 2.40 goals-against-average and a .919 save percentage.

Maple Leafs first round pick William Nylander received praise from his teammates after the team’s first scrimmage on Saturday.

"You can see he has the quick hands and he’s a great skater," said Leafs forward Nazem Kadri. "If he brings that package to the NHL level he’ll be a dynamic player." The 18-year-old has been playing on a line with Phil Kessel and Petri Kontiola. With the Leafs looking to get younger and more skilled at the forward position, Nylander may have a real shot at making the team.

After coming over in a trade with the Dallas Stars, Senators forward Alex Chiasson is looking forward to a fresh start in Ottawa.

"I feel like the trade can really be a big opportunity for me to bring my game to the next level," said Chiasson. The 23-year-old has been skating on a line with Mika Zibanejad and Milan Michalek. The line will be counted on to produce offensively this season. "I thought we made some good plays out there and you can tell those two guys are really skilled." With the right opportunity, a 50-point season isn’t out of the question for Chiasson.

Johan Franzen is hoping to be more consistent this season, and wants to use his size more effectively.

"(Franzen) has been a hot-and-cold player," said Detroit head coach Mike Babcock. "I think he has the ability to be a hot player, period." Franzen scored 16 goals in just 54 games last season but also admitted that he needs to be more consistent. "I usually worry about the other parts of the game. But I want to be a factor up front," said Franzen. "I’m one of the guys that should score. I want to get off to a good start. When you’re scoring, you feel very light on your skates and you’re flying out there." If healthy, Franzen will probably score between 20-25 goals this season.
